Help develop, create, and produce a new hosted podcast series exploring holistic wellbeing topics around running with lululemon.

lululemon is looking for an experienced podcast showrunner/producer to help develop, create and produce a new weekly hosted podcast series that takes a holistic approach to running and wellbeing, launching this spring. While we can't get into too many specifics here, the first season of this podcast will have six 20-30 minute episodes built around two charismatic hosts, incorporating regular interviews with guests.

We're looking for someone who has run a podcast before and has experience either directly handling or overseeing everything from developing a creative strategy to conducting pre-interviews with guests, sitting in on recording sessions, and editing down recorded content into final episodes with promotional content. You'll work closely with Tongal and lululemon throughout prep, production, and post and you should be prepared to either come in with a team (producer, editor(s), etc) or work with us to build that team, which will ultimately report to you. Critical in all this will be the development of a series strategy for the first 6-episode season of the podcast, as well as a strategy and breakdown for each individual episode, based on background research into the guests and overall content goals.

Our hosts, who are both charismatic and have experience on podcasts/in media, are based in London, where the bulk of recording will take place; but our guests will likely be scattered across different locations and time zones, so patching in to records remotely will absolutely be a factor here, as will doing test runs with remote guest talent to ensure their at-home recording setups run smoothly.

DELIVERABLES:

  • Six 20–30 minute full-length podcast episodes
  • Six full interview transcripts (one per episode)
  • Six :30 podcast trailers
  • Six :15 podcast trailers

TIMELINE: This project's timeline will run through June 1, 2021; a complete production timeline for all six episodes will be shared with the greenlit showrunner/producer. For the full series development and pre-production timeline please see the Assets section.

EXPOSURE:

  • Apple Podcasts
  • Stitcher
  • Spotify
  • TuneIn

TARGET AUDIENCE:

TONE: Educational, inspiring, motivational

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Craft and oversee creative content development and series format
  • Work with hosts, Tongal, and lululemon to develop talking points, interview structures, and guest-specific interview questions for each episode
  • Book and manage podcast studio recording sessions (roughly 2 hours per interview), including remote records
  • Oversee/manage podcast editing, including 2 rounds of revisions per episode; final mix, including music design; and formatting for distribution platforms
  • While your budget will need to cover your team's rates and production costs, you will not need to cover talent fees.

OPEN BID:

  • This is an open bid project, so you will get to set your own budget proposal, up to $30,000. The Sponsor is interested in seeing tiered pricing options, so please feel free to submit various versions of your pitch at budget, target, and reach price points within that price range.
  • By participating in this open bid project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a bid. Though most open bid projects on our platform do move forward with a greenlit bid, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any bids via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all open bid submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

Our priority is ensuring everyone's safety, so please review our COVID-19 Production Safety Guide and check federal, state, and local rules before and during your production to make sure your safety protocols are up to date. We’re working hard to keep people working during this extraordinary time, and you should ensure your submission is executable within the anticipated timeline and budget, while also ensuring everyone's safety.

While very different in tone and thesis, lululemon's Sweatlife podcast is a good touchstone for how lululemon has communicated with guests in the podcast space previously.

lululemon's longer-form Run content on YouTube can also give you a sense of how they message running to guests.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this podcast.
