To celebrate the upcoming premiere of PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie, create two pawsitively pawtastic social media videos and/or still images to get fans excited to see the movie in theaters.

PAW Patrol is on a roll! That's right - the iconic pups that everybody knows and loves will be hitting the big screen this September 29th when PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie premieres in theaters. When a magical meteor crash lands in Adventure City, it gives the PAW Patrol pups superpowers, transforming them into The MIGHTY PUPS! For Skye, the smallest member of the team, her new powers are a dream come true. But things take a turn for the worse when the pups' arch-rival Humdinger breaks out of jail and teams up with a mad scientist to steal the superpowers for the two villains. With the fate of Adventure City hanging in the balance, the Mighty Pups have to stop the supervillains before it's too late, and Skye will need to learn that even the smallest pup can make the biggest difference.

The goal of this project is to create social-first videos and/or still images that are clever, fun, and shareable in order to generate excitement about the movie and resonate with fans everywhere. We want you to tap your inner "pawsomeness" in a way that's original and interesting. Primarily, your concepts should encourage people to go see the movie on the big screen. The team is open to any creative medium (videos, illustrations, artwork, still images, etc.) so the possibilities are endless. Paramount is especially interested in maker video concepts. These are social videos where you craft, build, bake, or sculpt with unique materials, and also film your creation using fun and engaging editing techniques. To get a sense of what we mean, check out some successful examples of PAW Patrol maker content in the folder HERE.

An important thing to keep in mind: your concepts should appeal to parents of toddlers, so they can enjoy them as a family.

Below are some thought starters for different themes that you can explore, but if you have other ideas that unique, engaging, and creative that aren't on this list, Paramount still wants to hear about them!

  • Feature the Mighty Pups and their new superpowers (in a way that would appeal to adults)
  • PAW Patrol challenges that are cute, crafty, colorful, and/or funny
  • Showcase DIY activities that families can do with their kids

For the purposes of the Pitch stage, we're asking that you include at least 3 creative concepts in your treatment, and if you're selected, Paramount will work with you to decide which TWO concepts will move into production. That said, the more ideas, the better! These creative concepts should illustrate the potential creative approach you plan to execute and include any specific characters you would like to feature (check out the Background section to learn more about the characters in the movie). Feel free to include links to any existing social videos (they don't have to be your own) that represent the style you'd be aiming for. In addition, Paramount is interested in behind-the-scenes videos showcasing the process of how you made your video, so keep that in mind when developing your concepts.

Understanding that costs can vary depending on the creative execution of each social post, we're also asking that you include a proposed budget for each separate content idea in your treatment. For example, you could pitch a custom illustration where the PAW Patrol pups are transformed into superhero trading cards for $750, or create a sculpture of Skye made entirely out of candy for $2,500. Essentially, we want to know what your budget would be for each individual social post (but no line item breakdown is necessary).

It's strongly recommended that each creative execution feels different and unique. Paramount is NOT looking for 2 assets that are similar in style and approach. Each asset should be able to stand on its own while still feeling on brand for PAW Patrol. Paramount is looking to greenlight multiple creators, and there's a chance they may want to "mix and match" ideas from different creators. If that's the case, Tongal will reach out to those creators individually to work out a revised budget based on your original bid to create two assets.

For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Your pitch should include at least 3 concepts for social posts. As a reminder, these ideas do NOT need to feel stylistically cohesive. Instead, each concept should feel different and unique. Please also include a proposed budget for each individual content idea in your treatment.
  • Your ideas should NOT be aimed at young kids and MUST be geared towards parents.
  • Any depictions of the characters must be wholly original works. Paramount will NOT be providing any character assets.
  • Text can be incorporated but is NOT required.
  • Assets should feel contemporary and adult-facing, while still remaining family-friendly.
  • Video executions should be in short form, with a maximum run time of :30 or less.

OPEN BID:

  • This is an open bid project, so you will get to set your own budget proposal up to $5,000 to create two social assets. If it makes sense, you may feel free to submit multiple versions of your bid at a budget, target, and reach price point.
  • By participating in this open bid project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a bid. Though most open bid projects on our platform do move forward, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any bids via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all open bid submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed out in the Deliverables.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): Your treatment should include at least THREE unique creative concepts, and Paramount will work with the greenlit filmmaker to decide which TWO concepts will move into production. These concepts should illustrate the potential creative approach you plan to execute, along with any specific characters you would plan to feature. Please also include a proposed budget for each individual content idea. Your treatment should be a more detailed and specific description of how you propose to execute all of the content listed out in the Deliverables, both in terms of what we can expect to see, and how you’ll make it. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • BID (REQUIRED): This is an open bid project, and the Sponsor would like each producer to create all of the content listed in the Deliverables section within a budget total of up to $5,000. You can download the budget template here.

The most compelling pitches will be greenlit, and the responsible creators will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal.

For your convenience, we’ve provided some helpful templates to use at your discretion. They include templates for creating a treatment, production budget, storyboards, shot list, call sheet, and a music cue sheet. Additionally, there are templates that will help you clearly present cast, location, and wardrobe options to the Sponsor. They can all be accessed here.

BUILDING YOUR TEAM: Tongal supports inclusivity in all of our productions and strongly encourages you to hire diverse talent for your team. To find staff & crew in your area, check out these resources and partners.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS & RESOURCES: Once the Video Phase has closed, the greenlit submitters will enter the Revisions Phase. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into submissions to this project, and will not require a Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the providers’ names above.

If you choose to use custom or original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. Please ensure your composer reviews and signs this form BEFORE beginning their work.

You may not use any audio.
