Create five unique GIF, short video, or still image social assets that can be used on Nick Jr.'s social channels to celebrate the upcoming winter season (and a few specific holidays!).

The holidays are nearly here, and the fun-loving characters over at Nick Jr. are ready to celebrate! Nick Jr. is looking for engaging and thumb-stopping social content (aimed at parents of pre-schoolers) that celebrates the winter season and features characters from beloved Nick Jr. shows. They are looking for a single talented creator to produce 5 unique assets - including GIFs, stills, or short video content - that can be used on Nick Jr.'s social media channels. Here's specifically what the Nick Jr. team is looking for:

  • A post that celebrates National Cookie Day on December 4th
  • A general winter post that features characters from Baby Shark's Big Show!
  • A general winter post that features characters from Peppa Pig
  • A post that celebrates New Year's Eve
  • A post that celebrates New Year's Day

In terms of executions, the sky is the limit! We're open to seeing creative executions for everything from stop motion & animation, to motion graphics, to paper craft, to photography or lifestyle content, and everything in between. Executions should feature Nick Jr. characters whenever possible, but which characters and how they are incorporated is up to you. For your reference, Nick Jr.'s priority shows are Paw Patrol, Blue's Clues & You!, Baby Shark's Big Show!, Bubble Guppies, and Peppa Pig.

For the purposes of the Pitch stage, we're asking that you include at least 1 creative concept per holiday in your treatment, but the more ideas, the better! These creative concepts should illustrate the potential creative approach you would plan to execute for each holiday, along with any specific characters you would plan to feature. You can mix & match format and execution depending on what would work best for each holiday (for example, you could pitch a stylized illustration for National Cookie Day and a stop-motion GIF approach for New Year's Eve).

It's strongly recommended that the creative execution for each holiday feel different and unique. Nick Jr. is NOT looking for 5 assets that are similar in style and approach. Each asset should be able to stand on its own while still feeling on brand for Nick Jr. We encourage you to check out the Background section for more information about Nick Jr.'s social tone and examples of successful social content.

While Nick Jr. is primarily looking for one creator to make all 5 assets, there is a chance Nick Jr. may want to "mix and match" ideas from different creators. If that's the case, Tongal will reach out to those creators individually to work out a revised budget based on your bid to create all 5 assets.

For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

EXAMPLES OF SUCCESSFUL NICK JR. SOCIAL CONTENT:

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute these videos, GIFs, or static assets.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the social assets. For the purposes of the Pitch stage, we're asking that you include at least 1 creative concept per holiday in your treatment. These creative concepts should illustrate the potential creative approach you would plan to execute for each holiday, along with any specific characters you would plan to feature. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video and design work. Please be sure to also provide examples of any past social videos, GIFs, or static assets you have created. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • BID (REQUIRED): Please submit your bid for this project. The sponsor would like each producer to create all five social assets for up to $5,000 total. Please note that you only need to submit your bid - you do not need to submit a full budget proposal for this project.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets section.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Pre-production approvals will be dependent on the creative concepts selected, but may include:

  • CHARACTER DESIGN / CONCEPT ART: This project requires character approval before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your character designs and ask you to submit a new version. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until the characters are approved by the Sponsor.
  • STORYBOARD (if applicable): This project requires storyboard approval before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your storyboard and ask you to submit a new version.
  • LOCATION/BACKGROUND DESIGN: This project requires location/background design approval before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. This means you will need to submit multiple images of your primary filming location/background. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your location/background design and ask you to submit additional photos or to find a new location or background and submit images for that.

For your convenience, we’ve provided some helpful templates to use at your discretion. They include templates for creating a treatment, production budget, storyboards, shot list, call sheet, and a music cue sheet. Additionally, there are templates that will help you clearly present cast, location, and wardrobe options to the Sponsor. They can all be accessed here.

BUILDING YOUR TEAM: Tongal supports inclusivity in all of our productions and strongly encourages you to hire diverse talent for your team. To find staff & crew in your area, check out these resources and partners.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS: Once the Video Phase has closed, the greenlit submitters will enter the Revisions Phase. Filmmakers will perform reasonable edits on their videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback.

To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the providers’ names above.
