A major social media company is unveiling a new capability for their platform and they want to create demo videos to show it in action.

Our Mystery Sponsor is one of the world's top social media companies, and this year they are launching some exciting new user functionalities on their platform. To help introduce these new functionalities to the world, they are looking to create demo videos that show the platform in action. Though we can't get into all the details here, it's safe to say that these videos will act as tutorial content in one or more of the following verticals:

  • Food
  • DIY
  • Home
  • Style
  • Beauty
  • Travel

If you are interested in learning more and pitching on this project, be sure to submit to the Pre-Pitch Phase. At least five selected filmmakers will then be asked to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement, and given additional information about the Mystery Sponsor and product to put together their pitches. One (or more) filmmakers will be selected to move forward into the Video Phase. Please note that there will not be any funds awarded in the Pre-Pitch Phase. Should a filmmaker be greenlit in the Pitch Phase, they will then receive funding to produce their content.

DELIVERABLES:

  • 1 :30-:90 video (which will be comprised of one or more :03-:10 videos and/or still photos (all 9:16 vertical) that will work as a complete, multi-step tutorial for an activity that falls under one of the six verticals outlined above

TIMELINE: For the full project timeline please see the Assets section.

EXPOSURE:

  • Finished videos will be housed on our Mystery Sponsor's social platform

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Please note: if selected to move forward into the Pitch Phase, you will be able to put together a pitch for one or more of the verticals listed above
  • Videos will ONLY include visuals and graphics; they do not need to include any audio
  • The Sponsor is open to seeing a variety of styles here - live action, stop motion, animation, etc.

OPEN BID:

  • This is an open bid project, so you will get to set your own budget proposal within $2,500-$5,000 range per tutorial set. The Sponsor is interested in seeing tiered pricing options, so please feel free to submit various versions of your pitch at budget, target, and reach price points within that price range.
  • By participating in this open bid project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a bid. Though most open bid projects on our platform do move forward with a greenlit bid, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any bids via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all open bid submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

PRE-PITCH PHASE:

In order to be considered for the Pitch Phase, you must include the below materials in your Pre-Pitch Submission. The Pre-Pitch Phase gives filmmakers the opportunity to submit a 500-word synopsis of their creative vision for the final Video(s), confirm their availability for production, and submit samples of previous work. It’s your chance to raise your hand and say, “Hey, I’m available and I have this opportunity and want to learn more!”

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing why you are interested in and think you could be a great fit for this project.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

PITCH PHASE:

If selected to move forward to the Pitch Phase, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission to be considered for this project. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this video.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • BUDGET (REQUIRED): This is an open bid project, so you’ll get to set your overall budget proposal. You can download the budget template here. The Sponsor would like each producer to create 1 or more tutorial sets (comprised of both video and still photos) with a cost range of $2,500-$5,000 per tutorial set.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

The most compelling pitch(es) will be greenlit, and upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment, the responsible creator(s) will receive funding. Please note: the payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets section.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to shooting, filmmakers must receive the below approvals from the Sponsor.

  • HEADSHOT (IF APPLICABLE): This project requires headshot approval (if applicable) before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. You must submit at least two actor options per role. If the Sponsor does not approve either of your options for a role, you may be asked to submit two new actor options.
  • STORYBOARD: This project requires storyboard approval before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your storyboard and ask you to submit a new version.
  • LOCATION/BACKGROUND/PROPS: This project requires location/background/props approval before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. This means you will need to submit multiple images of your primary filming location or background. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your location and ask you to submit additional photos or to find a new location or background or props and submit images for that.
  • WARDROBE (IF APPLICABLE): This project requires wardrobe approval (if applicable) before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. Additionally, there are templates that will help you clearly present cast, location, and wardrobe options to the Sponsor. They can all be accessed here.
