New Orleans Live Event Video Project
Pitch
02/26/20 - 03/09/20

Produce two live event videos for Pinterest at a team offsite in New Orleans from March 31–April 2.

The goal of this project is to capture the activities at Pinterest's sales team offsite in New Orleans from March 31–April 2 in two sizzle videos. The event will take place over 3 days, with a variety of activities at different locations around the city.

One Tongal filmmaker will create two sizzle videos, each up to 3 minutes, capturing various parts of the offsite. One video will recap Day 1 of the offsite and will be due the same day to be looped on monitors during Day 2 of the event. You will need an on-site editor skilled at creating sizzles or event recap videos and able to work on a same-day delivery for this project. You will need to capture up to 3 interviews (led by an on-the-ground Pinterest rep) for the full event recap sizzle.

DELIVERABLES:

  • One 1-3 minute "Same Day Sizzle" video (16x9) recapping the first day's event at Mardi Gras World.
  • One 3-minute "Full Event Recap" video (16x9) with interviews
  • 10 Stills (can be pulled from video content)

TIMELINE: Please note this project involves a same-day edit. For the full project timeline please see the Assets section.

EXPOSURE: Internal Pinterest communications and events

TARGET AUDIENCE: Pinterest employees

TONE: Energetic, inspiring, celebratory.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • The same day sizzle for Day 1 will need to be edited and delivered the same day to be shown at breakfast the next morning
  • You will need to have an editor on the ground in New Orleans to cut the same day sizzle for Day 1
  • Music for the Day 1 sizzle will need to be approved in pre-production
  • All music in both sizzle videos should follow Pinterest’s guidelines (guidelines here)
  • You will need to either be local to New Orleans or provide your own travel

OPEN BID:

  • This is an open bid project, so you will get to set your own budget proposal up to $10,000.
  • By participating in this open bid project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a bid. Though most open bid projects on our platform do move forward with a greenlit bid, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any bids via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all open bid submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

REFER + EARN: Are you friends with a New Orleans-based filmmaker who would be perfect for this project? Refer them to Tongal for the opportunity to earn $100. Click for details.

The New Orleans offsite will be attended by Pinterest sales team members across a few key verticals and will take place across three days. A full run of show will be shared with the greenlit filmmaker, with the basic structure revolving around:

  • Day 1 – Team building exercise creating Mardi Gras floats at Mardi Gras World
  • Day 2 – Conference and breakout sessions at the InterContinental New Orleans; social event at Pythian Market
  • Day 3 – volunteer event

An on-the-ground Pinterest rep will also oversee pre-coordinated interviews on the ground with Pinterest employees at the event for sound bites to use in your full event recap video.

REFERENCE VIDEOS FOR INSPIRATION OR TONE:

Please refer to this blog post for tips on producing live event coverage.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this video.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A detailed narrative description of your approach to covering the event and the team members and number of crew you intend to use. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • BUDGET (REQUIRED): This is an open bid project, so you’ll get to set your overall budget proposal. You can download the budget template here. The Sponsor would like each producer to create two sizzle recap videos with a total cost range of up to $10,000.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome.

For some examples of effective pitch videos, check out this gallery. All pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit and, upon completing the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, the responsible creator will receive funding. Please note: the payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets section.
