Married to Medicine New Season Teaser Video Project
Pitch
01/29/21 - 02/04/21

Create a sizzling and amped-up :60 teaser video for social that gets reality TV fans pumped for the new season of Married to Medicine, which sees Season 8 premiere on Bravo on March 7th, 2021.

An apple a day can't keep these doctors away. Married to Medicine is Bravo's hit reality show about seven women in the Atlanta medical community balancing fast-paced careers with social circles, friends, and families. To get audiences hyped for the show's upcoming eighth season, Bravo wants you to create a bold and snappy 60-second teaser video for social that helps introduce the show to more casual fans of Bravo content and drives them to watch Married to Medicine's season premiere on March 7th.

Your video should be a bit of an M2M crash course that schools viewers in what these drama-filled doctors (and wives of doctors) are all about, but Bravo's already got a recap and a trailer, so that's not what we're looking for. This is basically, if you had to explain the characters, the  drama, and the vibe to someone who hasn't seen Married to Medicine, how would you do it? You'll certainly want to showcase footage from the show, and we'll be looking for bold editing, high energy, a lot of sass, and smart use of motion graphics and text.

You'll also want to make sure your video has clever copy or a point of view that reflects the tone of the show (take a look at this season 3 promo all about throwing shade for inspiration).

To give us an idea of your style and approach, we're asking you to create a :20-:30 proof-of-concept video (4x5) as a part of your pitch. We've provided some assets and references that you can use in the Background/Additional Details, as well as some general brand guidelines in the Assets.

DELIVERABLES: One :60 Sizzle Video (4x5, 16x9). Note: 4x5 is the key asset, so focus on that.

TIMELINE: For the full project timeline please see the Assets section.

EXPOSURE:

TARGET AUDIENCE:

  • Fans of reality TV and similar reality programming on Bravo but who may not be aware of Married to Medicine
  • Bravo is the #1 rated cable network in primetime among females 18-49

TONE:

  • The tone shouldn’t be too serious. It should be fabulous and glam, but still should portray the main characters of the show in a positive and fun light. It should excite, spark interest, and align with the tone of the show – dramatic, fun and escapist.
  • Bravo is straightforward and authentic, but with a sense of humor. This Bravo “wink” means that we love our drama, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Bravo aims to create a fun, bold, and engaging conversation: a guilt-free pleasure for everyone to share.
  • Fresh, unexpected, fun, spontaneous, honest and playful – Bravo delivers drama that’s fun and funny.
  • Never sensationalistic or silly, the tone embraces and celebrates fabulous rebels, trending Affluencers, larger-than-life personalities, characters who inspire us and people we relate to.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Your video MUST drive tune-in to Married to Medicine's season 8 premiere on March 7th, 2021.

  • Your video should NOT be recap of the show to catch viewers up to the season 8 premiere. Instead, it should increase awareness of the show to those who may not yet be familiar with it.

  • Bravo's talent is their product, so let their voices be heard. Since they are all very quotable, use quotes as part of the promo narrative, allowing them to tell their own stories, in their own words. That said, you should NOT portray talent in a negative light.

  • The editorial style reflects the clarity and simplicity of living in the moment. The exact placement of opens, text cards, and endpages in the edit should always be story-driven. It’s about making our message clear, not conforming to a rigid template. With that in mind, there is not a specific formula, but there are two guidelines to live by:
    • Keep it simple – no clutter, only use what’s essential.
    • No matter what the editorial pace is, make sure the message is clear – don’t overwhelm or confuse.

OPEN BID:

  • This is an open bid project, so you will get to set your own budget proposal within the $2,000 - $5,000 range. The Sponsor is interested in seeing tiered pricing options, so please feel free to submit various versions of your pitch at budget, target, and reach price points within that price range.
  • By participating in this open bid project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a bid. Though most open bid projects on our platform do move forward with a greenlit bid, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any bids via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all open bid submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

The Sponsor has decided not to move forward with a Bid on this project. Though most Open Bid Projects do move forward with a selected Bid, we will always notify you in the event the Sponsor has decided not to move forward. Please note that regardless of the results, all submissions are reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the Project Team. We sincerely appreciate your time and effort on this project.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 characters or fewer synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this video.

  • PROOF-OF-CONCEPT VIDEO (REQUIRED): Submit a :20-:30 proof-of-concept video (4x5) that demonstrates your creative approach and the aesthetic, tone, and/or style you'll be going for in this teaser video.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • BID (REQUIRED): This is an open bid project, so you’ll get to set your overall budget proposal. The Sponsor would like each producer to create all of the videos listed in the Deliverables section within a total budget range of $2,000-$5,000. If applicable, please ensure that your budget factors in appropriate COVID safety protocols (i.e. testing, PPE, cleaning supplies, backup talent, etc.). You can download the budget template here.

  • TREATMENT (Optional): If you can't get everything you need into the Proof-of-Concept Video, use the treatment to elaborate on your approach, and introduce the Sponsor to yourself, your team, and your capabilities. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing the next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure that you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven't unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Please note: the payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets section.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS:
Prior to shooting, filmmakers must receive the below approvals from Tongal.

  • TREATMENT (FOR ANIMATION): If your approach involves any 2D animation, this project will require treatment approval. The treatment should include any relevant cast, production design, or animation style frames, to show how you plan to execute the video. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your treatment and ask you to submit a new version. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until a treatment is approved by the Sponsor.

For your convenience, we’ve provided some helpful templates to use at your discretion. They can all be accessed here.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS: Once the Video Phase has closed, the greenlit submitters will enter the Revisions Phase. Filmmakers will perform reasonable edits on their videos according to Tongal’s feedback.

MUSIC: For the purposes of your Pitch, Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Jingle Punks, Universal Production Music and Epidemic Sound, any of which can be used to source music for your pitch submission to this project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into submissions to this project. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the providers’ names above.

If selected to move forward, you will be required to use the USA-approved music provider Frequency to source music for your Video submission to this Project.
