Produce multiple series of videos - all using Kinetic Sand - to create a steady stream of social content for Spin Master's YouTube and TikTok channels.

Kinetic Sand is the original squeezable sand that is so oddly satisfying, you can't put it down! Made with natural sand, Kinetic Sand magically sticks together and never dries out. Kinetic Sand lets creativity flow so you can create again, and again, and again!

To help get kids excited about all the different ways they can use Kinetic Sand to play, build, and create, Spin Master wants you to produce several series of videos designed for YouTube and TikTok that will feed Spin Master's social channels for four months. These series, outlined below, all revolve around different "buckets" of content that'll inspire kids to use the products in endless ways. Check out the Background / Additional Details section for more information about the four buckets of content. Your pitch treatment should lay out exactly how you plan to execute each series.

To make sure there's cohesion between each series of videos, you'll also be creating four different title cards (one for each series of content) that'll introduce the video's theme in the first 3-5 seconds. While shooting, you should also be thinking about 9x16 framing since some of the ASMR videos will be reformatted for TikTok.

If you're greenlit, product will be shipped directly to you from Spin Master - but given product limitations, you may need to tailor your video ideas around what's available. Videos will be delivered in four monthly batches to supply Spin Master's YouTube and TikTok channels with content that'll go live in September through December. At the end of the project, there will be the option to renew for three additional months of videos that'll go live in January through March.

To help with your pitch, you can access Kinetic Sand brand assets HERE.

In addition to this Kinetic Sand project, there are two similar projects live on the Tongal site from Spin Master. This one focuses more specifically on social content for Orbeez and this one focuses on creating ASMR content for both Kinetic Sand AND Orbeez. Be sure to check them out!

The Spin Master team is primarily envisioning a tabletop setup with hand talent. Some of the series also require voiceover and child talent. Check out more information in the Background / Additional Details section, and for any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

We're working hard to keep people working during this extraordinary time, and you should ensure your submission is executable within the anticipated timeline and budget, while also ensuring everyone's safety.

SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS:

Here's a breakdown of the content subjects that will comprise each batch of videos.

SERIES 1: MORE WITH KINETIC SAND (8+ minutes)

What can you do with Kinetic Sand? Let us show you and let the creativity flow! Spin Master is thinking about this like an episode of Art Attack, but all with Kinetic Sand. In each episode, you can put together 2-3 segments to make up one video and include fun interstitials/transitions to bring us from segment to segment. Kinetic Sand is all about letting creativity flow, so maybe it's teaching kids how to do a paint-by-numbers Kinetic Sand art piece, a DIY on how to make Kinetic Sand slime, showing off a zen Kinetic Sand tabletop setup to help you de-stress, or anything else crazy & creative! Spin Master is looking for ideas that are playing outside the typical sandbox.

The "More with Kinetic Sand" series should use a tabletop setup with hand talent and voiceover. The ideal scenario would be to film a boy and a girl together to introduce the "More with Kinetic Sand" concept and have them interact with the product in fun ways - but they do not have to be the talent throughout the entire video (after the intro, it would transitions to hand talent).

Example Videos for Inspiration:

SERIES 2: KINETIC SAND ART (3-6 minutes)

This series is all about sand art sculptures! Think Bob Ross-style art but with Kinetic Sand. Think about creating different sculptures that look like real objects (e.g. realistic-looking food but made with Kinetic Sand!).

The "Kinetic Sand Art" series should use a tabletop setup with hand talent and optional voiceover (if your execution calls for it). In your pitch treatment, let us know who you plan to bring on your team to construct the sand art sculptures.

SERIES 3: DIG & DISCOVER (3-4 minutes)

Kids love digging and finding things in sand. Let's make some fun Dig & Discover videos with surprises inside! This series should be edutainment pieces for the Buried Treasure Playset and Dino Dig Playset. Some ideas include creating sensory bins (there are lots of examples on YouTube - but check out this video for inspiration), treasure chest-themed videos, and dinosaur-themed videos.

The "Dig & Discover" series should use a tabletop setup with child talent (preferably a boy and a girl) so we can watch the kids dig through the sand and discover the "treasures" buried within it. You can use the same child talent from the "More with Kinetic Sand" videos for the "Dig & Discover" series.

SERIES 4: OPPORTUNISTIC TRENDS (whatever length fits the format)

See something trending on YouTube or the Internet and think you can incorporate Kinetic Sand? This is your opportunity! You can also use YouTube tentpole days as themes for this (like Halloween, Earth Day, etc.)

The themes for the opportunistic trend videos will be decided upon during pre-production. While the format of these videos will be dependent on the creative idea, you can expect to use a tabletop setup with hand talent and optional voiceover.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 or fewer characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this video.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here. Your pitch treatment should lay out exactly how you plan to execute each series. You should also include who you plan to bring on your team to create the sand art sculptures for the "Kinetic Sand Art" series.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • HEADSHOTS/CASTING BOARDS (Optional): Casting notes or concepts, headshots of actors, etc.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets section.
