Drive viewers to click-to-shop their favorite Pebbles Cereal and brand new Pebbles Crunch'd with fun, dynamic, and nostalgia-inducing :15 paid spots for TikTok. This project is gonna move quickly!

As a kid, what did you love best about Fruity or Cocoa Pebbles? Was it the way your milk transformed color and flavor as you ate? The deliciously fruity or chocolatey flavor? The bright colors and textures? All of those things are still true about the Pebbles cereals, meaning you can satisfy your favorite childhood craving any time of day. Even better, the all-new Pebbles Crunch'd offers the same familiar cravings-satisfying treat, but now with a snackable, rockstar shape and a crunchier texture that makes Pebbles Crunch'd perfect in a bowl of milk, where it stays crunchier longer, or as an on-the-go snack, popped by the handful.

Post Consumer Brands is looking for one savvy, speedy TikTok creator to produce a series of paid ads that reminds adults that they can still be kids at heart and indulge their nostalgia cravings with all things Pebbles. These :15 videos must drive click-through to a shoppable page where viewers can add Pebbles products to their carts, so you'll need to have a firm grasp on what stops thumbs on the TikTok platform and what makes Pebbles such an engaging product. While these are paid ads, they need to look and feel native to TikTok and follow creative best practices, so think about what content performs best on the platform, how it looks, and how you can capitalize on those elements to bring these videos to life.

We'll need to move quickly, so speed in production and post is of the essence here; these videos need to be live by June 1. From a technical POV, we're looking for that sweet spot between full UGC and full commercial production, and creatively, we're looking for you to propose and build on a fun, engaging, clever, and memorable approach that gets viewers excited to revisit childhood through the truly iconic flavors, textures, and look of Pebbles. In your pitch, you should talk us through what that looks and feels like: do your videos require full talent, or just hands? Are you filming first-person POV? How does your approach fit into or play against any current platform trends or long-standing memes? How do color (Fruity Pebbles), milk transformation (Cocoa Pebbles), and texture and sound (Crunch'd) play into your approach? And how do you tailor your approach between Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles, or the original cereals vs the new Crunch'd product?

We've got more details on both the original Pebbles cereals and the new Crunch'd product in the Background. For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

DELIVERABLES: There are five total video assets:

  • One :15 Fruity Pebbles cereal video (9x16)
  • One :15 Cocoa Pebbles cereal video (9x16)
  • One :15 Fruity & Cocoa Pebbles cereal video (9x16)
  • One :15 Fruity Pebbles Crunch'd video (9x16)
  • One :15 Cocoa Pebbles Crunch'd video (9x16)

TIMELINE: HERE. This one's going to move quickly, so read the timeline thoroughly before pitching.

EXPOSURE: We anticipate content will be used on the platforms listed below, but if casting talent, please be sure your talent reviews the required Talent Release, as it is not limited to these platforms. You should also review our Music providers in the Project Requirements, as well as the platform best practices page.

  • TikTok, paid and organic

TARGET AUDIENCE: "Kid-at-Heart" adults who grew up with Pebbles and still want to experience that joy.

TONE: Nostalgic, fun, exciting, adventurous, creative, energetic.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Product and brand must register with viewers in the first 2 seconds.
  • Videos must look and feel native to the TikTok platform and audiences.
  • While your videos can share a similar theme, approach, talent (if using) and locations, each must feel tailored to the specific product and key messaging around it. See more in the Background section.
  • Videos must drive click-through.
  • Videos must communicate against a nostalgia message.
  • While this project is not limited to US-based filmmakers, given the tight timing, shipping product outside of the continental US might prove difficult. Take that into consideration in your pitch.
  • Please review TikTok's creative best practices for ads.
  • You may not use trending audio from TikTok; the Sponsor may be able to provide music options or access to TikTok's royalty-free library to the greenlit creator, but otherwise you must use original sound or audio from Tongal's partner libraries, linked in the Submission Requirements section of the brief.
  • Videos must include baked-in captions (for dialogue/VO) and CTAs provided by the Sponsor.
  • Flintstones characters can only be shown on the product packaging and cannot be otherwise used in your content. All videos must include the following legal line: THE FLINTSTONES and all related characters and elements © &™ Hanna-Barbera (s23).
  • Food Styling:
    • Bowls must show approximately one serving per the nutrition label, so we recommend using smaller bowls so the ratio of cereal to milk/bowl is balanced.
    • Never show hands digging into the box; cereal should be poured into bowl, or for snacking, a set amount of cereal should be shown in the talent's hand.
    • Pebbles must be part of a "balanced breakfast," with a glass of orange juice or milk and a piece of fruit (i.e. apple, banana, orange) styled. These elements can be on the edge of your frame but they must be visible.
    • A food stylist is not required, as your videos should look and feel more natural and less commercial, but ensuring the Pebbles product looks appetizing on camera is crucial.
    • When purchasing product, do not buy the "Mega" or "Family Size" boxes – just the regular boxes (11 oz for cereal).

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a submission. Though most projects on our platform do move forward, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any submissions via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

Shooting live action or stop motion? Our priority is ensuring everyone's safety, so please review our COVID-19 Production Safety Guide and check federal, state, and local rules before and during your shoot to make sure your on-set protocols are up to date. We're working hard to keep people working during this extraordinary time, and you should ensure your submission is executable within the anticipated timeline and budget, while also ensuring everyone's safety.

Fruity Pebbles looks and tastes as good as you remember, with vibrant colors and flavors.

Cocoa Pebbles transforms your milk into chocolate milk day or night with a satisfying chocolatey taste.

Fruity Pebbles Crunch'd and Cocoa Pebbles Crunch'd offer the same nostalgic and vibrant flavors and colors, but in a snackable, rockstar shape that's bigger and crunchier. You can eat them by the handful, take them on the go, and they stay crunchy in milk longer.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed out in the Deliverables.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A more detailed and specific description of how you propose to execute all of the content listed out in the Deliverables, both in terms of what we can expect to see, and how you’ll make it. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • SCRIPT (Optional): This should include dialogue from the video you intend to create.

  • STORYBOARDS (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across. You can download the Tongal storyboard template here.

  • HEADSHOTS/CASTING BOARDS (Optional): Casting notes or concepts, headshots of actors, etc.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

  • APPRENTICESHIP ADVISOR (Optional): The Tongal On-Set Apprenticeship Program is an opportunity to support new & emerging talent in production positions with hands-on on-set experience. Please indicate on the pitch submission form if you would be interested in overseeing an apprentice on your production; your answer will neither increase nor decrease the likelihood of your pitch being greenlit. Tongal will cover the apprentice's day rate outside of your project budget, and if you are matched with an apprentice, your Tongal producer will reach out with more information. To learn more about the On-Set Apprenticeship Program and the responsibilities of an advisor, please click HERE.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to shooting, filmmakers must receive the below approvals from the Sponsor.

  • SCRIPT: This project requires script approval. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your script and ask you to submit a new version. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until a script is approved by the Sponsor.
  • CASTING: This project requires casting approval. Tongal advocates for inclusivity in on-screen representation and diversity in casting. As a best practice, please submit three to four options per role, with at least one of those options being a person of color. If the Sponsor does not approve any of your options for a role, you may be asked to submit two new actor options. Additionally, owing to the risk of disruption from COVID, you will be expected to have backup talent approved by the Sponsor in advance of production to account for any last-minute changes.
  • LOCATION: This project requires location approval. This means you will need to submit multiple images of your primary filming location. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your location and ask you to submit additional photos or to find a new location and submit images for that.

For your convenience, we’ve provided some helpful templates to use at your discretion. They include templates for creating a treatment, production budget, storyboards, shot list, call sheet, and a music cue sheet. Additionally, there are templates that will help you clearly present cast, location, and wardrobe options to the Sponsor. They can all be accessed here.

BUILDING YOUR TEAM: Tongal supports inclusivity in all of our productions and strongly encourages you to hire diverse talent for your team. To find staff & crew in your area, check out these resources and partners.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS & RESOURCES: Once the Video Phase has closed, the greenlit submitters will enter the Revisions Phase. Filmmakers will perform reasonable edits on their videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback. Check out our Filmmaker Resource Portal to access helpful post-production resources like Text-Safe Guides for different platforms, Project File Organization Tutorial, Export Presets, and Captioning services.

MUSIC: If you use any music from a library for your content, you MUST use one of Tongal's three music providers - Jingle Punks, Universal Production Music and Epidemic Sound. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into submissions to this project, and will not require a Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the providers’ names above.

If you choose to use custom or original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. Please ensure your composer reviews and signs this form BEFORE beginning their work.

ASSET DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS & RESOURCES: You must also provide all project files, editing sequences and a 1080p .mov master file, using a ProRes, Animation, or Uncompressed Codec in order to submit final payment. You are responsible for the costs associated the hard drive and shipping.

To ensure a smoother delivery, please review the Export Presets, Specifications, and Project File Organization Tutorial in our Filmmaker Resource Portal.
