Before you can create a great Video or Series, you must first create a great Treatment. A Treatment is a commonly utilized document in the film industry containing both written and visual elements that explain and support how you’ll execute a video or series should you be selected to do so. Typically on Tongal, every Video Project that has a Pitch Phase requires a Treatment from the filmmaker.
But if you’ve ever found yourself asking, “What the heck should I actually put in this Treatment?!?,” you’re not alone. On the Tongal 101 pages of this site, we’ve highlighted a few strong examples made by our community, but now we’re going a step further and giving you a template that contains all the major elements you need to build a sleek Treatment.
With this template, it’s our intention to guide you towards making the best impression possible with your potential client. We’ve highlighted some core materials to include in your Treatment (Synopsis, Mood Board, Execution, Filmmaker and Team Bios), as well as recommended optional materials to be employed as applicable to the Project at hand.
You are invited to edit the template however you wish, and we’re excited to see what you’ll do with it. Make it your own by changing the colors and fonts, adding or removing our suggested slides, or anything else your heart desires. As always, you are free to create and upload your own Treatments if this one isn’t really your jam.
We are currently offering the Treatment Template in the following formats: PowerPoint and Keynote (clicking the links will initiate a download to your computer). We’ve included notes throughout on how to edit the template, so even if you’re not familiar with these programs, it should be simple to use. For reference, we’ve also created this example Treatment that shows you how yours could look once it’s all filled in!

Hi Landon, you ought to be able to customize the template by opening up the Slide Master. There are instructions on how to access that in the red box located on the cover slide. Once in the Slide Master area, you can double click on the bar to change the color, remove it, etc. Hope this helps!
