When it comes to shoot days, being organized is the name of the game. Having a clear plan in place before you step on set can save your production both time and money. We’ve already covered the high-level importance of the Call Sheet, but if you’re the one behind the camera, the Shot List is your personal playbook.

and check out our Open Projects to get involved!

The Shot List is a literal to-do list of every scene the director wants to see onscreen. It includes info about how each shot will be framed, how the camera will move, and whether the camera is capturing an interior or exterior shot of a location. If you’d like to brush up on your shot types, check out this article from Empire Magazine.

We are currently offering the Shot List Template in two formats: PDF and DOCX (clicking will initiate a download). Once downloaded to your computer, you’ll have the ability to edit the template to suit your own production needs.

We hope all our directors, ADs, and DPs, find this tool to be helpful. If you’d like to see this resource in any other format, let us know down in the comments and we’ll do our best to accommodate!

I'd actually use it, if it didn't look like it was made for and by amateurs. But the fact that you think these are the cameras we use to create your videos, speaks loudly...

We hear you Guilad, but it's really difficult to draw a Red Helium with all the bells and whistles on it, you know?
