Create a humorous web series for up to $10,000 per episode for a Mystery Sponsor Kids Brand that wants to help parents keep their kids active and engaged this summer.

“Sorry Ma’am…Parks Closed” – if you know the line and the movie, you know the sinking feeling families are having as they arrive at the realization that this year, summer, for all intents and purposes, feels like it has been cancelled.

With camps, carnivals, road trips, movies, BBQ’s and other classic family summertime fun out of reach this crazy summer, parents will have to get resourceful and figure out how to find a cure for the 2020 Summertime Blues. But, seriously…who the hell has time to be resourceful between trying to make a living, being an elementary school teacher and feeling like a waiter for customers in your own restaurant who never stop complaining and who never ever pay the check.

If you’re feeling us this far, you know why our Mystery Sponsor gets that it’s time to save summer and throw parents a much deserved bone with a fun, cheeky, episodic series that inspires them to adapt summertime camp rituals at home. The series of videos should be a creative take on “camp” activities with a fun and engaging host going out to a multitude of camp counselor personalities/correspondents who can inspire with creativity and connect with parents in their current and unusual circumstances. For a take on tone, please watch the examples below.

Think of this as a virtual summer camp sponsored by the Mystery sponsor where parents can get some desperately needed help devising camp like activities and songs to keep their kids active and keep themselves from spending too much time at “Camp MommyWannaMaiTai.” Each episode should translate one of these summer time activities to the home environment, making sure to consider families in all types of living situations and make the activities accessible and translatable.

The series needs to be built around weekly summer camp related themes and inspire parents to create their own “virtual summer camp.” Since parents are the target audience they are envisioning a series hosted by someone who is a genuinely funny character, who is totally real and totally out there. This host should be supported by personalties/correspondents who bring their own unique flair and camp inspired activities to the table. For the host and personalities, think characters like Flo from Progressive, Old Spice guy, PeeWee Herman, or Alton Brown. They should be who someone's kids and parents would like, respect and find believable in the role.

DELIVERABLES: There are 57 total assets, detailed below.

  • Six :90-3 minute episodes (16x9, 1x1, 9x16) built around your weekly summer camp inspired tentpoles.
  • Two pieces of short, lightweight ancillary content (16x9, 1x1, 9x16) for each episode for social channels. This could be a short parent-only video snippet or an additional quick kid craft/activity.  The sponsor is certainly open to other ideas too.
  • One :60 outro video  (16x9, 1x1, 9x16)  with the host(s), camp counselors and kids wrapping up the series and saying farewell.

TIMELINE: Since summer is just around the corner and the content needs to stay relevant this is an extremely fast moving project. For the full project timeline please see the Assets section.

EXPOSURE:

  • Mystery Sponsor home page, Mystery Sponsor Social Media channels, and Mystery Sponsor email & newsletter subscribers.
  • Please make sure your videos are in accordance with platform best practices page.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Parents of younger kids, approximately 2-7 years old.

TONE: Helpful, sympathetic, and a little irreverent about the insane juggling act parents are being asked to perform during this crazy time.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES and OTHER CREATIVE CONSIDERATIONS:

  • The integration of the Mystery Sponsor's products will be part of this once the winner is chosen and the sponsor is revealed. However, it’s okay for production teams to get creative and use other household items to fashion their camp and its activities. Anything is on the table as long it’s safe for children.
  • While there should be a main host, it's just as important to have multiple correspondents/camp counselor personalities who can help keep the fun moving with different activities.
  • Since this is a camp, there need to be songs. While you don’t need to compose songs we need to know how you’d integrate some element of music into the camp activities.
  • Kids playing independently and imagery of host(s)/counselors getting in on the fun are both required.
  • Camp activities and challenges for each weekly video should be age appropriate (approximately ages 2-7) and achievable for kids at various development stages.
  • While the videos should be fun and energetic they also need to be helpful to parents. Keep in mind any activity that’s too elaborate or staged may scare them away. They need to feel like, “hey, I can do this too.”
  • Keeping kids engaged is the focus but the occasional parental “activity” is welcome. “While things appear to be tip-top in the backyard I’m going to show you how to make a killer Paloma.”  Just an example but you see where we’re going.
  • Some motion graphics will need to be integrated into the videos so make sure you have someone onboard who can help with that.
  • Please include persistent Logo and URLs across all videos

PRODUCT: The greenlit filmmaker will be shipped all the necessary Mystery Sponsor products.

OPEN BID:

  • This is an open bid project, so you will get to set your own budget proposal for up to $10,000 per episode. The Sponsor is interested in seeing tiered pricing options, so please feel free to submit various versions of your pitch at budget, target, and reach price points within that price range.
  • By participating in this open bid project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a bid. Though most open bid projects on our platform do move forward with a greenlit bid, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any bids via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all open bid submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this video.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the series. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • CASTING BOARDS and CHARACTER PROFILES (REQUIRED):  Since this will be host and personality driven tell us who these characters are and who will be playing them.  Any video samples of the talent in action would be very helpful to the Sponsor.

  • BID/BUDGET (REQUIRED):: This is an open bid project, so you’ll get to set your overall budget proposal. You can download the budget template here. The Sponsor would like producers to create the entire suite of content for up to $10,000 an episode.

  • LOCATIONS (Optional):  Submit some photos of where the magic is going to be happen.  Small backyards, large backyards, tiny backyards, maybe it’s not exactly a yard, we just need to know what some of these places will look like.

  • SCRIPT (Optional): This should include dialogue from the video you intend to create.

  • STORYBOARDS (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across. You can download the Tongal storyboard template here.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome.

All pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit and, upon completing the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, the responsible creator will receive funding. Please note: the payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets section.
