Using graphic design and motion graphics, create a suite of videos and still images for [solidcore] to promote their upcoming Winter Challenge, their Black Friday sales, and their end of year app feature [solidcore] cool down.

The end of the year is always a busy time, but [solidcore] is here to encourage athletes to not let that stop them from coming into the studio. If you haven't already visited a studio, a [solidcore] workout is 50 minutes of continuous work on their signature [sweatlana] fitness machine, set to bumping music, and underneath dim lights that let you focus on your body. They'll be enticing athletes to come in to get a solid workout with Black Friday deals and a Winter Challenge, and they'll also be celebrating those who have been coming all year-round — or even half the year — with their second annual [solidcore] cool down. [solidcore] cool down will be a digital celebration displayed in the app that'll give athletes a summary of the year's workouts using data, along with some playful characterizations. It's like Spotify wrapped for your workouts.

The goal of this project then is to promote and drive excitement for the [solidcore] Black Friday Deals, the Winter Challenge, and [solidcore] cool down, by creating a suite of videos and still images that covers each of these content pillars separately. Although the videos are key components of this project, the majority of the content here will actually be the different static images. You can checkout a full deliverables breakdown HERE, but there's also some general guidance you should keep in mind.

The solidays challenge is all about how [solidcore] clients find joy in the work. It's a time for them to not only show themselves gratitude but also celebrate their [community] by giving back. A [solidcore] athlete pushes themselves all year round, and yes they drip their own sweat, but its also those athletes under the blue lights with them that push them to become the [strongest] version of themself. For the IG Reels, you'll use motion graphics with the text and image animation to show this not only in the solidays messaging but also in pushing people to show up for themselves by taking advantage of the Black Friday deals. For the IG Stories, you'll create a single IG Story slide with the information that needs to be conveyed. Check out the deliverables breakdown linked above for more information on this information per IG Story theme.

[solidcore] is always pushing the boundaries through a [strong] voice that builds it community. They're a little tongue & cheek while also recognizing the challenge. In putting together the elements of the images for [solidcore] cool down, keep these tone notes in mind and make sure to review the Brand Guidelines when brainstorming ways to bring the [solidcore] spirit to [solidcore] cool down.

The pre-production period will be used to align on the look & feel of the deliverables, as well as storyboards of the copy that will be included in each video. For any of the above assets you can use the photos from the winter campaign that are linked under assets below.

Check out more information in the Background, and for any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a submission. Though most projects do move forward, we'll notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any submissions via the Project Forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and project team.

BLACK FRIDAY DETAILS:

  • These deals are actually specific to each individual, and when they click on a link, they're sent to a personal page; that means instead of promoting specific deals, you'll be promoting the Black Friday sale itself. To that end, you'll create one Instagram Reel that will live for [solidcore] announcing that deals are live. You'll also create sets of Instagram Story Slides that will tease the Black Friday deal, and then remind viewers that it's live, before announcing the "last chance" they have to participate on Cyber Monday.

WINTER CHALLENGE DETAILS:

  • Here, you'll be creating promotional assets in the form of both IG Reels and Stories. You'll find more about this in the Winter Challenge info below.
  • The Winter Challenge is affectionately called "solidays" and its all about find the joy in the work. It's how you show yourself and your [solidcore] community gratitude. For every visit from 12/3-12/17, [solidcore] will give $1 to a charity. [community] is a key pillar of [solidcore] and this is an opportunity for clients to stay active while giving back to the community. What's more, though, it's the season of giving, so [solidcore] will also be giving prizes to clients who meet certain class goals. If you make 6 visits during the challenge window you'll receive a free [ ] beanie, and with 10 visits you'll get a free sweatshirt.
  • The 1x1 static image will be used as the IG story highlight cover that helps bookmark these assets once the story has expired. It should be [solidcore] blue background color, with white icon that ties into solidays messaging and match the theme of [solidcore]'s other IG story highlight covers (you can find their IG here).

[solidcore] COOL DOWN DETAILS:

  • You'll be creating promotional assets in the form of both IG Reels and Stories. For the [solidcore] cool down app images, you'll be creating the static images that will comprise the [solidcore] cool down summary. This will consist of 3 intro slides, one of 4 muscle focus slides, one of 11 [solidcore] sign slides, one of 4 favorite time of day slides, one of 4 total classes completed slides, and an overview slide. For the muscle focus, [solidcore] sign, and favorite time of day slides, you will be creating the different options that the client may be serves. These slides will be based on the clients activity throughout the year, so each of these should have their own unique personality. For the intro and overview slides, the data will be auto-populated based on individual performance, so we will need editable files for these as well. For the IG Reel announcing [solidcore] cool down, you'll need to mock up what the app experience might feel like, so, using the slides you created, you'll edit together a dynamic piece that gets people excited about this cool app feature as well as previewing some of what the experience might feel like.
  • Like Spotify wrapped, this fetaure on the [solidcore] app allows clients to celebrate their year and share their personal results on social media. It includes how many classes you attended, milestones achieved, favorite location, and (if you've been with [solidcore] awhile) any changes from years past. After these intro slides it goes into detail on your most worked muscle group, your [solidcore] sign, and most attended time of day. Check out all the slides from last year's activation HERE.

In order to be considered, include the below materials in your submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery. All Pitches remain private, even after a Pitch is selected, and Tongal strives to have Pitch selections made by the end of the Evaluation period, but additional time may be required by the Sponsor, depending on any number of factors.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed in the Deliverables.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A more detailed and specific description of how you propose to execute all of the content listed out in the Deliverables. Explain what we can expect to see, and how you'll make it. If it's helpful, we've provided a treatment template HERE.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, editor, artist, etc.) but do not include links to your showreel. Please link to individual videos.

  • STORYBOARDS (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across. You can download the Tongal storyboard template here.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show what you're capable of. Consider a video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect, or consider test videos, proof-of-concept edits, animatics, etc. For examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit by the Sponsor, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal, typically included with the project timeline.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to the commencement of actual production, creators MUST receive final approval from the Sponsor on the elements below. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until an element is approved.

If you begin production before you have received final approval, you may need to reshoot or reanimate at your own expense.

  • TREATMENT: Describe in detail how you plan to execute the content, and how you plan to bring it to life visually. Feel free to use concept art, references, style frames, or mock-ups. If relevant, share additional information about your team, and your process.
  • STORYBOARD: Include individual images for each key beat in your video. It is best practice to include scripted dialogue or VO, along with on-screen text or disclaimers, under each panel in our Storyboards. If there are multiple unique videos, ensure you submit a Storyboard for each video.

For convenience, we've provided some helpful templates that you can consider using for pre-production materials, and they can all be accessed here.

BUILDING YOUR TEAM: Looking for help? Post crew and production opportunities connected to Tongal projects on Backlot. Check out our Filmmaker Resource Portal to access helpful post-production resources like Text-Safe Guides for different platforms, Project File Organization Tutorial, Export Presets, and Captioning services.

MUSIC: If you use music from a library for your content, you MUST use one of Tongal's three music providers - Jingle Punks, Universal Production Music and Epidemic Sound. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into submissions to this project, and will not require a Music Release Form. To learn more, click on any of the providers' names above.

If you choose to use original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. Please ensure your composer reviews and signs this form BEFORE beginning their work.

STOCK FOOTAGE: Tongal has partnered with the stock footage library STORYBLOCKS, which can be used to source video clips, photography, and After Effects templates for your video submission to this project. Video or photo content from Storyblocks is available at no charge, solely for incorporation into submissions on this project, and will not require a separate Release Form. If identifiable people or intellectual property appears in a video clip or photo, you may only utilize assets that are clearly marked “Model released: Yes” or “Property release: Yes” on the clip description pages. You may not use any audio.

If you intend to use Storyblocks, inform your Tongal producer, and an account will be created for you to access the library. Once assets are approved for delivery, you must provide a complete list of all Storyblocks content that you used via our template HERE.
