Use clever motion graphics & editing to create a dynamic proof of concept video featuring Winn-Dixie's newly revamped grocery stores.

If you've been following along on Tongal, you might have noticed that Winn-Dixie has been changing up their look. They've introduced the Winn Winn Twinns, and even redesigned their Item Price ads. These changes span across their marketing efforts, but they also apply to Winn-Dixie's stores themselves. With renovations & remodels underway this year, many communities across the Southeastern US are about to have fully revamped Winn-Dixie stores opening in their areas, and the Winn-Dixie team wants to announce those changes on regional broadcast & social media.

The goal of this project is to create a proof of concept that could ultimately be used for those announcements. These should be :15 videos (in 16x9) that utilize clever motion graphics & editing to introduce the updates to the surrounding communities, highlight photos & b-roll from within the revamped stores, and get people excited to shop at their new Winn-Dixie. They should feel in line with existing Winn-Dixie content (see the Background/Additional Details for some inspiration), and utilize Winn-Dixie branding, fonts, colors, store photos & potentially b-roll (provided in the Assets tab). That said, we are looking for innovation too!

It's important to reiterate that in this project, we are only looking for proofs of concept. Should Winn-Dixie like your approach, you may have the opportunity to be greenlit on a future project and receive additional funding (of up to $10,000) to further develop and deliver the proof of concept.

DELIVERABLES:

  • Two filmmakers will be greenlit to each deliver:
    • One :15 Proof-of-concept video (16x9)

*Should Winn-Dixie like your approach, you may have the opportunity to be greenlit to receive additional funding (of up to $10,000) to develop the following set of editable templates (in After Effects, Premiere, or an equivalent editing software):

  • 1 x :15 16:9 broadcast template
  • 1 x :15 16:9 digital pre-roll template
  • 1 x :15 9:16 Instagram Stories template
  • 4 x :06 1:1 social video/mock-GIF template

TIMELINE: For the full project timeline please see the Assets section.

EXPOSURE: Internal use for now, but may ultimately become a repeatable format used for targeted paid social media ads, targeted pre-roll ads, and targeted OTT & CTV ads

TARGET AUDIENCE:

  • 25-44 consumers interested in value and great products
  • Residents of the Southeastern United States

TONE:

  • Fun, energetic & welcoming

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Proofs of concepts must leverage provided photos of the new store features (these have been provided in the Assets tab below). You can also leverage the provided b-roll footage, but that is NOT required. Featuring the stills is the higher priority
  • Proofs of concepts must include a mention of the store's name & address. For the purpose of this proof of concept, you can use the store name "Oviedo Winn-Dixie" and the address: 1021 Lockwood Blvd, Oviedo, FL 32765
  • Proofs of concept must convince viewers to reconsider the Winn-Dixie brand, and ultimately break their shopping habits to give their new remodeled Winn-Dixie a shot. Any copy that you incorporate should emphasize that the store has changed for the better, and you are missing out if you don’t check it out!
  • Proof of concepts should be innovative, but should still feel they belong to Winn-Dixie’s other communications regarding the store. You can see examples of a Chalkboard Texture & set of typography they use in the Assets Tab below
  • Proofs of concept should utilize "Winning" language should whenever possible to tie into existing Winn-Dixie branding (i.e. "It's a Winn Win," "Winning Together," "That Winning Feeling," etc.)
  • Proofs of concepts can draw inspiration from existing Winn-Dixie Item Price content (see more in the Background/Additional Details section below), but this is not required
  • Proofs of concept should come up with a way highlight at least 2 of the store sections below, and address how a future template might add/remove highlights of certain areas in a store, depending on that store's set up. These features can include:
    • Deli & Bakery
    • Produce
    • Meat
    • Seafood
    • Dollar Shop
    • Natural & Organics Section
    • Sand and Surf Section (Beach Shop)
  • Proofs of concepts should leverage the photo imagery to speak for themselves - i.e they shouldn't rely too heavily on text
  • Proofs of concepts should work without any VO
  • You are welcome to submit up to 5 separate proofs of concept if you have multiple ideas; we just ask that you only submit one proof of concept per pitch

OPEN BID:

  • This project is for proofs of concept ONLY. However, if Winn-Dixie is interested in your proof of concept, there is a chance they may greenlight you for a future project to develop a set of editable templates. If you were greenlit for a future project, you would have the opportunity to set your own budget proposal of up to $10,000 for all templates outlined above.
  • By participating in this proof of concept project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a bid for a future template project. Though most open bid projects on our platform do move forward with a greenlit bid, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any bids via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all open bid submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

You are welcome to draw inspiration from past Winn-Dixie motion graphics content, including their revamped Item Price ads, or a suite of motion graphics ads that were created to highlight: "That Winning Feeling..."

You are also encouraged to use Winn-Dixie's library of doodles & hand drawn elements, which you can find in the Assets tab below.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this video.

  • PROOF OF CONCEPT (REQUIRED): Submit your proof of concept to show how you would create a :15 video (16x9) announcing a revamped Winn-Dixie store to a Florida community.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • BID/BUDGET FOR TEMPLATES (REQUIRED): The Sponsor would also like you create a budget of the costs associated with creating the editable templates outlined in the Deliverables section above, should you be greenlit for a future project. You can download the budget template here. If greenlit for a future project, you would receive additional funding of up to $10,000.

The two most compelling pitches will be greenlit, and upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment, the responsible creators will receive funding. Please note: the payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets section.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS: Once the two creators have been greenlit, they will each perform one round of revisions on their proofs of concepts. From there, Winn-Dixie will determine whether or not they would like to move forward with a creator to receive additional funding to create a full set of editable templates in a future project.
