Create a cute, crafty, fun, and engaging vertical social video themed around Spin Master's new animated series Vida the Vet that stops parents' thumbs on social media and encourages them to watch Vida the Vet with their kids.

Your new favorite vet is ready to see you now! Vida the Vet is a new show for toddlers that follows a vet named Vida and her vet tech, Popcorn, as they help their animal friends in Sweetwood. Each episode, kids learn facts about different animals and how to care and deal with specific problems (like, what happens when you get poison ivy, how to overcome a sad day, or how to get rid of the hiccups). Each episode has a unique, catchy song, and each animal/character has a unique personality too. To help raise awareness about Vida the Vet for parents and kids alike, Spin Master is looking for FIVE different creators to each produce ONE vertical social video geared towards parents of preschool-aged toddlers that demonstrates how Vida the Vet is a show that expands loving hearts and curious minds with imaginative stories of empathy and well-being.

Specifically, Spin Master is looking for visually-intriguing, cute, and crafty videos, up to :59, that'll catch parents' attention on social media feeds and make them want to watch Vida the Vet with their kids. Spin Master is open to any creative execution so long as your concept is video-based (we are NOT looking for still images or illustrations), and they are especially interested in "craft" or "maker" video concepts. These are social videos where you craft, build, bake, or sculpt with unique materials, and also film your creation using fun and engaging editing techniques. Think about the types of social videos that parents love to watch - like making a Vida-themed lunch for their kid, a Vida-themed craft, or a Vida-themed birthday party - and let your imagination run wild! Importantly, Spin Master does already have some other craft content that's in production, and they'd like to AVOID making too many similar videos, so please make sure to check out the Background for that list.

Keep in mind: your concepts should appeal to parents of toddlers, so they can enjoy them as a family. Otherwise, all videos should adhere to the Vida the Vet brand guidelines, which will be provided. Tonally, your video should be playful, cheerful, informative, and trustworthy. Vida shares real facts about the real world, and she’s a positive and likable role model for kids, so these videos should reflect that ethos. Since your video will be living on social media, we want the content to feel organic to the platform. Your video should be eye-catching, grab the viewers' attention within the first 3 seconds, and all content should feel connected to Vida the Vet (e.g. the use of brand colors, songs from the show, values from the show, and catch phrases). Your primary aspect ratio should be a vertical 9x16, but you'll also need to deliver for 4x5, so keep that in mind when you're framing your shots and planning out your video.

In your pitch treatment, make sure to detail your proposed creative concept for your social video. While not required, we highly encourage you to submit multiple video concepts in your pitch treatment for Spin Master evaluate. If you're selected, Spin Master will work with you to decide which ONE concept will move into production. Feel free to include links to any existing social videos (they don't have to be your own) that represent the style you'd be aiming for.

VIDA THE VET SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS:

In order to be considered, include the below materials in your submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery. All Pitches remain private, even after a Pitch is selected, and Tongal strives to have Pitch selections made by the end of the Evaluation period, but additional time may be required by the Sponsor, depending on any number of factors.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed in the Deliverables.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A more detailed and specific description of how you propose to execute all of the content listed out in the Deliverables. Explain what we can expect to see, and how you'll make it. If it's helpful, we've provided a treatment template HERE.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, editor, artist, etc.) but do not include links to your showreel. Please link to individual videos.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show what you're capable of. Consider a video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect, or consider test videos, proof-of-concept edits, animatics, etc. For examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery.

The five most compelling pitches will be greenlit by the Sponsor, and the responsible creators will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal, typically included with the project timeline.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to the commencement of actual production, creators MUST receive final approval from the Sponsor on the elements below. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until an element is approved.

If you begin production before you have received final approval, you may need to reshoot or reanimate at your own expense.

  • TREATMENT: This project requires treatment approval. The treatment should describe how you plan to execute the video and how you plan to bring the storytelling to life visually. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your treatment and ask you to submit a new version. There may be up to multiple rounds of feedback until a treatment is approved by the Sponsor.
  • STORYBOARD (If Applicable): This project requires storyboard approval before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your storyboard and ask you to submit a new version.
  • LOCATION / BACKGROUND DESIGN (If Applicable): This project requires location/background design approval before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. This means you will need to submit multiple images of your primary filming location/background. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your location/background design and ask you to submit additional photos or to find a new location or background and submit images for that.

For convenience, we've provided some helpful templates that you can consider using for pre-production materials, and they can all be accessed here.

To learn more, click on any of the providers' names above.

If you choose to use original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. Please ensure your composer reviews and signs this form BEFORE beginning their work.

STOCK FOOTAGE: Tongal has partnered with the stock footage library STORYBLOCKS, which can be used to source video clips, photography, and After Effects templates for your video submission to this project. Video or photo content from Storyblocks is available at no charge, solely for incorporation into submissions on this project, and will not require a separate Release Form. If identifiable people or intellectual property appears in a video clip or photo, you may only utilize assets that are clearly marked “Model released: Yes” or “Property release: Yes” on the clip description pages. You may not use any audio.
