Create viral, out-of-the-box TikTok content that brings Venom: The Last Dance to the top of everyone's FYP feeds ahead of the movie's premiere on October 25. We’re looking for funny, authentic videos that engage audiences in new ways, and take advantage of some footage and audio from the film itself.
Hungry...for more Eddie and Venom?! In the last two films, the lovable friction in their forced friendship kept us coming back for more. Venom: The Last Dance, in theaters on October 25, will be no different. Sony is turning to the Tongal community to join in with TikTok content that feels fresh, exciting, and culturally relevant to celebrate the third and final installment in the Venom trilogy. They want videos that can engage audiences in clever, new, and creative ways, and that feel super relevant to the TikTok platform. Ultimately, we want to get fans talking about the movie so they go see Venom: The Last Dance in theaters.
The goal here is to create a single live action video, up to :30 in length. You have a lot of freedom to explore new approaches. That could mean skits, commentary, reaction videos, or even your neighborhood squirrel finally getting its 30 seconds of fame—although you're not limited to these so get creative with your approach. While ultimately we want to drive fans to purchase early ticket sales, the primary message should be sharing your personal excitement to see the film in a fun, new and engaging way.
Sony is providing clips and audio snippets from the trailer (linked below) that you can build your live-action videos around. Feel free to use the audio only, the footage alone, or both together. You could also supplement any of these with VO or dialogue where it makes sense. While we definitely want humor here, your videos can also reflect the action-packed nature of the movie. Think of entertaining approaches that feel social-first: react, respond, recontextualize, reframe – or even just underscore a humorous audio bite with a relatable moment. That said, bear in mind that these should NOT look or feel like "ads" or trailer re-cuts; you can utilize the assets that Sony's providing, but we want you to do something much more creative and interesting. and make sure that it feels at home on TikTok's For You Page (FYP). We’re not looking for anything overly formatted or too closely tied to existing trends and, in fact, you should stay away from any trending audio. The final content should be short, punchy, and perfectly optimized for TikTok, with a focus on engagement and shareability. Your content should feel like it has the potential to break through the noise on TikTok.
For those unfamiliar, TikTok’s For You Page (FYP) is a personalized feed based on viewing habits and interactions and prioritize engaging content. To create content with this in mind, think in terms of short, impactful moments that hook viewers in the first few seconds, drive interaction, and feel authentic rather than overly polished. It should be quick, visual, and relatable, with a focus on looping content that keeps viewers watching repeatedly. The more content gets liked, shared, or commented on, the more it’s likely to be surfaced on the FYP feed.
Timing is critical, and fast, on this project. We’ll be working on a tight schedule, so we’re asking that the concept in your pitch have enough detail to move into production quickly after approval. That means you’ll need to present ideas that are thoroughly thought-out and fully executable. Include as much detail in your pitch as you can; this could mean including storyboards or even a proof of concept video. If greenlit, there will be one quick round of pre-production before you shoot, so it's important your ready to engage right from the start.
