Calling all Venom Fans! We’re looking for FOUR artists to design an original poster for Venom: The Last Dance. Winning designs will be used to promote the theatrical release of the film on October 25 and will be chosen by the film’s creative team.

This fall, Sony Pictures Entertainment will be closing out the epic trilogy and bringing Venom back to the big screen with Venom: The Last Dance. To help promote the film, we're looking for four artists to tap into their own unique visual styles and create a traditional one sheet illustrated poster to celebrate the movie and drive fans to theaters on opening weekend.

When it comes to the poster itself, we're looking for a variety of styles and aesthetics. You should create your poster in a 4x5 aspect ratio, and will need to be able to deliver a high res layered file if selected. The art should focus on Venom film (not comic book) iconography that is specific to The Last Dance, including Venom, Venom Horse, the new Las Vegas locations, etc. Check out more details immediately below under Creative Guidance and in the Background further down the page. As mentioned, the submissions will be reviewed by members of the film’s creative team, possibly even Tom Hardy himself, so bring your best designs!

For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

Four winning artists will receive the following:

  • $2,000 for your poster artwork
  • Work featured on the official Venom and Sony Pictures Entertainment social channels, and elsewhere in the campaign

To enter your submission, you must:

  1. Be 13 years of age or older.
  2. Log-in to, or create a Tongal Account
  3. Upload your Poster Artwork to Tongal through the "Submissions" tab of the project page (above)
  4. Fill out the required information on the Submission Form and click the "Submit" button

EXPECTED TIMELINE: HERE

RELEVANT ASSETS: HERE

CREATIVE GUIDANCE:

  • Reference the trailer linked in the Background for creative inspiration. Some key themes are venom, the horse, and the city of Las Vegas. Note that for the latter, you cannot depict any identifiable elements of Las Vegas (ie the sphere) but you may reference the skyline in your design.
  • Poster must use the title treatment provided in the assets above – you may change the color to match the artwork but the font must stay the same. Poster must also include date and in theatres messaging (please reference our current Venom: The Last Dance poster).
  • Do not include Eddie Brock’s face (i.e.played by Tom Hardy). .
  • In depicting Venom, only use the version of Venom featured in the movie, which is visually different than that represented in the comic. Venom as depicted in Venom: The Last Dance has eyes that curl in the corner, and does not have a logo on his chest. Please do not reference comic books in any way.
  • Unlike our other projects, the filmmaking team will be reviewing final posters (rather than pitches). Please submit posters that are ready for review.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Your Artwork must be submitted as a PDF, PNG, or JPG. If you are selected, you will also be required to provide a high-resolution 300 DPI layered file (.psd, .ai, etc.) of your Artwork.
  • Please do not reference or mimic the comic books in any way.
  • Your Design must be wholly original and not previously published, licensed, sold, used, released, distributed, or otherwise exploited in any form. Your Design must not have previously won any award.
  • Your Design may NOT include third party materials (e.g., artwork, logos, photographs, etc.).
  • Final Deliverables must not contain any output from an AI generator
  • You must sign Sony's Submission Release Agreement, without edits, and submit it along with your concept. Greenlit creators will also need to sign Sony's Certificate of Results and Proceeds, which will be provided when greenlit.

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a submission. Though most projects do move forward, we'll notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any submissions via the Project Forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and project team.

MOVIE SYNOPSIS - In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as "Venom," one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie's last dance.

HELPFUL REFERENCE LINKS FOR INSPIRATION/TONE:

In order to be eligible for this contest, you must include the below materials in your Poster Artwork submission. You may submit up to five times.

Creators will perform reasonable edits on their artwork according to the Sponsor's feedback. Check out our Filmmaker Resource Portal to access helpful post-production resources like Text-Safe Guides for different platforms, Project File Organization Tutorial, Export Presets, and Captioning services.

ASSET DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS: You must also provide a high-resolution final image and layered design files, if applicable, in order to submit final payment.
