Produce up to 10 fun, soothing, and shareable :30–:60 ASMR videos of things melting or burning to celebrate Season 2 of Tacoma FD on TruTV.

For thousands of years, humankind has sought the answer to two of life's greatest mysteries: Will it melt? and, in a similar vein, Will it burn?  Now WarnerMedia is looking for Tongal filmmakers to help answer those questions, object by object, in the pursuit of science, ASMR, and awareness for Season 2 of Tacoma FD in a series of :30-:60 social videos.

Your ASMR videos should be fun and shareable, and should focus on the simple premise of seeing how various things melt or burn, with an emphasis on sound quality. Watch.It.Melt is a great example of how soothing and satisfying these videos can be; what we're looking for, though, is an unexpected and funny twist in line with Tacoma FD's playful sense of humor.

How you approach this series – and what you call it – is totally up to you: you can start with melting one crayon and move up to a whole box; you can use a hot knife to burn or melt through different foods or materials; or you can burn your homework. Consider how various items will melt or burn, how slow-motion or timelapse can keep the videos engaging and interesting, and how you can tie your videos back to Tacoma FD. Just be sure to keep things safe on set and design your surprisingly funny videos around the oddly soothing sound of things burning and/or melting for a true ASMR experience.

There's a strong chance more than one filmmaker will get the greenlight to create multiple videos.

The Sponsor is interested in seeing tiered pricing options, so please feel free to submit various versions of your pitch at budget, target, and reach price points within that price range.
  • By participating in this open bid project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a bid. Regardless of the result, all open bid submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

Season 2 of Tacoma FD returns to TruTV on March 26. Created by and starring members of Broken Lizard, Tacoma FD is a half-hour comedy set in a firehouse in one of America’s rainiest cities. Light on blazes that need extinguishing, this crew keeps themselves entertained with creative competitions, friendly first responder rivalries, and bizarre emergency calls.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • BID (REQUIRED): This is an open bid project, so you’ll get to set your overall bid.The Sponsor would like each producer to create up to 10 videos with a cost range of $500–$750 per video. You should set a per video bid and a total bid that covers the total number of videos you plan to produce (i.e., $500 / $5,000 if you're pitching to produce all 10 videos at $500 each).

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

The most compelling pitch(es) will be greenlit, and upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment, the responsible creator will receive funding. Please note: the payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets section.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to shooting, filmmakers must receive the below approvals from the Sponsor.

  • TREATMENT: This project requires treatment approval before filmmakers can move onto the Video Phase. The treatment should describe how you plan to execute your videos and how you plan to bring the storytelling to life visually. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your treatment and ask you to submit a new version. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until a treatment is approved by the Sponsor.

For your convenience, we’ve provided some helpful templates to use at your discretion. They include templates for creating a treatment, production budget, storyboards, shot list, call sheet, and a music cue sheet. Additionally, there are templates that will help you clearly present cast, location, and wardrobe options to the Sponsor. They can all be accessed here.
