With a shoot on December 7th or 8th, interview a couple in Miami that met on The League dating app, and then create an inspirational testimonial video that shows how The League enabled their union in order to drive more users to download the app.
The League offers a high-quality curated experience for driven professionals who want to cultivate meaningful and loving egalitarian relationships. In their continued push to raise awareness and drive app downloads, they want to create an inspirational testimonial video that showcases the real-life success stories of two users, Keiana and Jamaal, who found love by using The League dating app. Keiana and Jamaal live in Miami, Florida, and this will require an interview in Miami on Thursday or Friday, December 7th or 8th.
The goal of the project is to showcase the result of this successful League match in a way that drives new people to download and register to join The League dating app. The videos you create should emphasize how the app serves as a modern matchmaker, uniting busy professionals in meaningful relationships, and viewers should be inspired by this story and feel that they don’t need to settle, acquiesce their ambitions, or wade through an endless stream of daters to find a partner who values their intelligence and supports their passions.
You'll work with The League to align on interview questions for Keiana and Jamaal, but you should bring to your pitch a general narrative angle of how you'd like to approach telling their story. Importantly, we're not looking for a studio interview here, so you'll need to source the location. The couple has offered a few general suggestions in the Background, but it'll help if you're able to share a few options in your pitch, with the understanding that you'll still be able to scout other options if necessary. It's important for the location to feel upscale but not too "boujee" or pretentious, and be relevant to the couple's story. While the focus of the video will be on the couple's story, you should also think about how you can make the testimonial style in general feel a little more fresh and energetic. That could involve innovative camera techniques or engaging motion graphics and maybe even some animation that punctuates the visuals of Keiana and Jamaal talking on-screen. We'll aim to have a short pre-interview with the couple, so you can get a better sense of their story before the shoot.
Their main story will be told in the :30 hero video, but we're also asking for some creative cutdowns. While the :15 can be a more straightforward cutdown, it's important to think about optimizing for social platforms when it comes to the :10 and :06. Speak to how you'd plan on making these more engaging for a social-first audience. Do consider that there might be a need for some b-roll, so your creative approach should touch on this as well.

THE COUPLE:
Who knew two people from Brooklyn would end up meeting in Miami via The League? Jamaal, a successful Health Law Attorney, and Keiana, a successful Health Tech Guru, met via The League in May 2022, but fast forward to today: now they're married with a baby boy and very much in love. According to them, they clicked effortlessly as soon as they met, and it's all thanks to The League for a match made in heaven. Keiana knew Jamaal was the one when she could not see her life without him in it, and he made her feel so comfortable that after a few months she knew he was the one for her. There was no aspect of her life that she did not want him to be involved in. They've enriched each others' lives both personally and professionally, consistently striving to help each other become the best versions of themself; so much so that they the first couple to be featured in Brickell Magazines' top 20 under 40.
POSSIBLE SHOOT LOCATIONS:
You'll need to scout and ascertain the reality of filming at any of these, but the couple has suggested filming at the Design District, the Carbone Restaurant (where they got engaged), or the downtown Miami promenade.
MORE ABOUT THE LEAGUE:
Launched in 2015 and modeled after private members-only clubs like Soho House, The League is a highly selective dating app devoted to creating power couples from its influential members. They strive to build a community where smart, outspoken, high-achieving individuals are celebrated and encouraged to pursue their ambitions and where equal partnerships are the rule, not the exception.
As a product, The League works extremely well, boasting one of the highest match rates in the industry. Rather than an unlimited stream of prospects, The League gives its users a curated “Batch” of 3 to 8 prospects each day. Features such as League Live, their video speed dating feature allowing users to go on up to 3 three-minute mini dates each Sunday, increase match rate 3x. Additionally, users can browse their ‘Party Scout’ map, make friend requests, join local events and local & global interest-based groups to help daters meet offline and expand their social network.
MESSAGING:
At The League, you can have it all, and they want you to. They stand for individuals that are equal in the workplace and equal in relationships with like-minded standards and ambition. The brand suggests choosing one key message, and then considering the below key differentiators.
In order to be considered, include the below materials in your submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery. All Pitches remain private, even after a Pitch is selected, and Tongal strives to have Pitch selections made by the end of the Evaluation period, but additional time may be required by the Sponsor, depending on any number of factors.
The most compelling pitch will be greenlit by the Sponsor, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.
Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal, typically included with the project timeline.
