Using testimonial footage supplied by one of The League's successful users, Sports Illustrated model and fitness entrepreneur Katie Austin, edit together a suite of videos that show how The League enabled her current successful relationship in order to drive more users to download the app.

The League offers a high-quality curated experience for driven professionals who want to cultivate meaningful and loving egalitarian relationships. In their continued push to raise awareness and drive app downloads, they want to create a testimonial video that showcases the real-life success story of one of their users, Sports Illustrated model and fitness entrepreneur Katie Austin, and her fiancé Lane Armstrong, who went public last year about finding love by using The League dating app.

The goal of the project is to use footage of Katie and Lane to edit together something that showcases the result of this successful League match in a way that drives new people to download and register to join The League dating app. The videos you create should emphasize how the app serves as a modern matchmaker, uniting busy professionals in meaningful relationships, and viewers should be inspired by this story and feel that they don’t need to settle, acquiesce their ambitions, or wade through an endless stream of daters to find a partner who values their intelligence and supports their passions.

Using the assets provided by Katie Austin, you should create an engaging testimonial video that not only tells the story of Katie and Lane's relationship, but also positions The League as the centerpiece that made it all possible. In the assets you'll find a mix of casual selfie-style footage, photos, and dedicated testimonial footage that the couple filmed themselves. The goal is to integrate these different styles of footage and photos using a mixed-media approach so that the videos feel extremely personal and real, while still feeling elevated. Check out the Background for example videos that demonstrate how this might look.

Importantly, you will NOT be able to use any other publicly available footage or photography of Katie, so don't look to Katie's social media for additional assets. In your edit, you can only use the footage provided in the link below. Music should be pulled from one of our partner libraries, which you can find in Project Requirements below.

Creatively, ask yourself, while staying aligned to The League's brand guidelines, how can you make these videos pop, both in broadcast streaming formats, and on people's social feeds? You'll want to edit the longer form videos (:30, :20) for streaming and digital ,while editing the shorter cuts (:15, :10) with an eye towards social. For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

  • One :20 Video (16x9, 9x16)

ABOUT KATIE AND AUSTIN:

HELPFUL REFERENCE VIDEOS FOR INSPIRATION/TONE:

BRAND BACKGROUND:

Launched in 2015 and modeled after private members-only clubs like Soho House, The League is a highly selective dating app devoted to creating power couples from its influential members. They strive to build a community where smart, outspoken, high-achieving individuals are celebrated and encouraged to pursue their ambitions and where equal partnerships are the rule, not the exception.

As a product, The League works extremely well, boasting one of the highest match rates in the industry. Rather than an unlimited stream of prospects, The League gives its users a curated “Batch” of 3 to 8 prospects each day. Features such as League Live, their video speed dating feature allowing users to go on up to 3 three-minute mini dates each Sunday, increase match rate 3x. Additionally, users can browse their ‘Party Scout’ map, make friend requests, join local events and local & global interest-based groups to help daters meet offline and expand their social network.

MESSAGING:

At The League, you can have it all, and they want you to. They stand for individuals that are equal in the workplace and equal in relationships with like-minded standards and ambition. The brand suggests choosing one key message, and then considering the below key differentiators.

  • Selective: Their waitlist and vetting system is in place to surround you with a community of like-minded people committed to finding a long-term relationship.
  • Driven: They work hard to make sure The League is chalk full of smart (highly-educated), passionate (career-oriented) individuals who are seeking an elevated dating experience.
  • Authenticated: You’ll never have to wonder if that Harvard hottie is too good to be true on The League, everyone must authenticate their account. They do the LinkedIn stalking for you to ensure a safe community full of real prospects.
  • No games: In dating apps, there’s an epidemic of failed relationships and unfaithful behavior. The gamified nature of other dating apps turns swiping from a service into a sport. They save your time, energy, and swipe thumb.

In order to be considered, include the below materials in your submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery. All Pitches remain private, even after a Pitch is selected, and Tongal strives to have Pitch selections made by the end of the Evaluation period, but additional time may be required by the Sponsor, depending on any number of factors.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed in the Deliverables.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, editor, artist, etc.) but do not include links to your showreel. Please link to individual videos.

  • SAMPLE VIDEO (REQUIRED): Utilizing the provided assets, provide a :15 sample video (16x9) illustrating how you’d approach the content listed in the Deliverables.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit by the Sponsor, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal, typically included with the project timeline.
