Work directly with Tower Hobbies, a hobby e-retailer, to create a :30 TrueView video that shows their wide selection of remote control (RC) vehicles in action, while encouraging enthusiasts to subscribe to their Super Saver Premier membership program.

Tower Hobbies is an online retailer that carries an expansive collection of RC models and supplies for all hobbyists. They have one of the largest in-stock inventories of hobby products of any online hobby retailer in the market; this includes airplanes, cars and trucks, helicopters, boats, radios, trains, plastic models and more hobbies/activities. All of their products are hobby grade - not toys - which means they are high quality and deliver outstanding performance.

The goal of this project is to create a :30 live action video that highlights the five specific products outlined in the Background section. They want super cool and awe inspiring shots of the specified RC surface vehicles and airplanes in action, and they would like to communicate that Tower Hobbies inspires dreams and builds memories with family and friends, while encouraging enthusiasts to sign-up for their Super Saver Premier membership. Tower is affiliated with an organization who works with disabled veterans to get them into the crawler hobby so, a veteran using one of the products with his daughter, may be a good idea to include in the video.

Tower will fine tune all RC models for the winning production team and depending where you are located may be able to recommend one of their expert RC drivers to ensure you get some incredible action shots.

Check out more information in the Background section, or ask questions here in the Project Forum.

For this project, once a filmmaker is selected, they will be put directly in contact with the sponsor. All communication and feedback between both parties will run through the Tongal platform.

DELIVERABLES: Three total deliverables:

  • One :30 video (16x9)
  • Two alternate :30 versions (16x9). Alternate variations will involve the same characters, locations, and script, and will mostly involve small changes that can be handled in post-production, including changes to CTAs, end-card designs, on-screen text copy, and other minor edits. Additionally, depending on where the creative lands, a version may include a slight variation to the script. This will be decided between the selected producer and client during scripting.

TIMELINE: Please find the anticipated timeline HERE, but note that if you are selected, you should consult with your Tongal producer to ensure you are always working off of the most up to date timeline.

EXPOSURE: YouTube. For YouTube TrueView for action best practices please click here.

TARGET AUDIENCE:  Hobby Enthusiasts, ages 25-45.

TONE: Fun, Inspiring, Family Friendly.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Must implement the Call To Action (CTA) "Join the Super Saver Premier Membership" in the end card.
  • These are hobby products, not toys, so make sure the person using the product is of the correct age for that specific product. Typically 14 years or older.
  • Must implement their brand guidelines into visual style of the video.

Shooting live action or stop motion? Our priority is ensuring everyone's safety, so please review our COVID-19 Production Safety Guide and check federal, state, and local rules before and during your shoot to make sure your on-set protocols are up to date. We're working hard to keep people working during this extraordinary time, and you should ensure your submission is executable within the anticipated timeline and budget, while also ensuring everyone's safety.

Tower Hobbies is a heritage brand since 1971, originally selling hobby products primarily through a catalog service, but fast forward 50 years and they're now a leading online hobby retailer. Most consumers know them for their wide assortment of great brands, at a great value, including their powerhouse of RC brands. They also sell products for a wide variety of hobbies including plastic models, model rocketry, metal detection, among others.

All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets section.
