Create three thumb-stopping and engaging TikTok videos to drive recruitment of new subscribers to WW's new PersonalPoints™ program.

WW (formerly known as Weight Watchers) is the #1 best diet for weight loss. For more than 55 years, WW has helped millions lose weight with the latest nutritional and behavior change science. This past November, WW launched their new PersonalPoints™ program, and it's their most individualized program yet. After taking a short quiz, you're given a unique ZeroPoint™ Foods list (aka foods you don't need to track, measure, or count) along with a PersonalPoints™ budget customized to you to ensure you can eat what you love and still lose weight. No two plans are alike, because no two people are alike.

To help drive recruitment of new subscribers, WW is looking to create a wide range of TikTok videos that feel native to the platform, tap into current  trends, and communicate the different selling points of the PersonalPoints™ program. Check out WW's official TikTok account to get a sense of the brand's tone of voice and the type of content they've been posting. WW's primarily looking for live-action videos that don't feel overly polished or produced. The idea is for these videos to live alongside the lo-fi content that generally fills up TikTok feeds. Most importantly, they want TikTok videos that are FUN, upbeat, and joyful, and help reintroduce WW to a new generation of users. WW is looking to greenlight multiple creators, so feel free to get super creative with your ideas!

As a part of your pitch, WW would like you to submit a treatment outlining your concepts for three distinct TikTok videos. Please note: these ideas will be further refined during pre-production, and the WW team will work with the greenlit creators to tailor the concepts to WW's current messaging priorities. While you can use VO and show people's hands and arms, it is preferred that you don't show people's faces or have people speaking directly to camera. If you want to use a popular TikTok filter that obscures someone's face (the green screen eyes and mouth effect comes to mind here), that's totally fine. That said, if you do happen to know someone who has lost a significant amount of weight on the WW program who you think would be great to feature in a TikTok video, let us know in your pitch treatment! Just note that, if you're greenlit, that person would need to have their weight loss officially verified by WW.

It's encouraged that you create the videos within the TikTok app itself, but if you prefer to use professional equipment and editing software, that's fine too, as long as you're mindful of the TikTok safe zones and guarantee that this feels organic to the platform. Since filming on your phone is encouraged, we'd recommend you put together a proof-of-concept TikTok for your Pitch Video.

Check out more information in the Background section, and for any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

DELIVERABLES:

  • Three up-to-:60 TikTok videos (9x16)

TIMELINE: For the full project timeline please see the Assets section.

EXPOSURE: TikTok

TARGET AUDIENCE:

  • Women ages 25-54 with 11+ lbs to lose
  • People who have never been WW members who may not know about where the brand stands today and are looking for a modern wellness brand that's relevant to their lives
  • People who have been WW members in the past and just need a reminder that WW is still their partner to achieve their goals

TONE: Fun, humorous, authentic, motivational, inspirational

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • The TikToks should be made WITHIN the TikTok app so that they don't look overly produced or too much like an ad, but if you prefer to use professional equipment and editing software, that's fine too, as long as you're mindful of the TikTok safe zones and guarantee that this feels organic to the platform.
  • It's preferred you DON'T feature people's faces or have people speaking directly to camera.
  • If you do know someone who has lost a significant amount of weight on the WW program who you think would be great to feature in a TikTok video, please note that the person will need to have their weight loss officially verified by WW in order to be seen in the video.
  • Make sure to upload your video into the TikTok preview tool to make sure text is not cut off.
  • You MAY use music tracks sourced from TikTok's library, but if you do, you MUST deliver your videos without music, and provide exact timecodes for where the music tracks should be added in your video timeline. Unless your video is specifically referencing a music track, it is still preferred that you use music from the Tongal libraries."
  • Showcasing the efficacy of the program (weight loss success!) is important but doesn't need to be the main message of EVERY TikTok.
  • Your videos MUST abide by TikTok’s weight loss policy (more information on this will be provided to greenlit creators).

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a submission. Though most projects on our platform do move forward, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any submissions via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

Shooting live action or stop motion? Our priority is ensuring everyone's safety, so please review our COVID-19 Production Safety Guide and check federal, state, and local rules before and during your shoot to make sure your on-set protocols are up to date. We're working hard to keep people working during this extraordinary time, and you should ensure your submission is executable within the anticipated timeline and budget, while also ensuring everyone's safety.

TIKTOK CREATIVE THOUGHT STARTERS:

  • What I eat in a day on WW
    • Showcase different meals – nothing is off limits on WW
    • Could utilize the robot voice effect
  • My grocery store haul
    • Show different ZeroPoint™ foods + more decadent foods. Your grocery cart doesn't need to be boring!
  • Food ASMR
    • This could be a recipe video where you make a delicious-looking meal.
    • It could even be as simple as filling up a water bottle, and once it hits 60 oz of water, you get one Point added to your PersonalPoints™ budget.
  • Green screen eyes and mouth effect (example HERE)
    • This could be a great way to showcase the WW app and how it makes attaining your wellness goals super easy

EXAMPLES OF PAST WW TIKTOKS:

Be sure to take a look at WW's official TikTok account to get a sense of the brand's tone of voice and the type of content they've been posting. Also, check out this folder for some additional TikTok examples. While these examples should inform your creative choices, you should NOT feel confined to them. WW is really looking to tap into trends and create content that's out-of-the-box and feels natural in anyone's TikTok feed.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 or fewer characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this video.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the TikToks. For the purposes of the Pitch stage, we're asking that you include at least 3 creative concepts for TikTok videos in your treatment. These creative concepts should illustrate the potential creative approach you would plan to execute for each TikTok. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • HEADSHOTS/CASTING BOARDS (Optional): Casting notes or concepts, headshots of actors, etc.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): It is highly encouraged you submit a proof-of-concept TikTok for your Pitch Video. It can be filmed on your phone and edited within the TikTok app to demonstrate to WW how you'd execute one of your creative concepts. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

The most compelling pitches will be greenlit, and the responsible creators will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets section.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to shooting, filmmakers must receive the below approvals from the Sponsor.

  • TREATMENT: This project requires treatment approval. The treatment should describe how you plan to execute the five TikTok videos and how you plan to bring the storytelling to life visually. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your treatment and ask you to submit a new version. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until a treatment is approved by the Sponsor.
  • LOCATION: This project requires location approval. This means you will need to submit multiple images of your primary filming location(s). The Sponsor may provide feedback on your location and ask you to submit additional photos or to find a new location and submit images for that.
  • CASTING (If Applicable): This project requires casting approval. Tongal advocates for inclusivity in on-screen representation and diversity in casting. As a best practice, please submit three to four options per role, with at least one of those options being a person of color. If the Sponsor does not approve any of your options for a role, you may be asked to submit two new actor options. Additionally, owing to the risk of disruption from COVID, you will be expected to have backup talent approved by the Sponsor in advance of production to account for any last-minute changes.
  • WARDROBE (If Applicable): This project requires wardrobe approval. You will need to submit descriptions and/or pictures of your cast’s wardrobe. You must submit at least two wardrobe options per role. If the Sponsor does not approve either of your options for a role, you may be asked to submit two new wardrobe options.

For your convenience, we’ve provided some helpful templates to use at your discretion. They include templates for creating a treatment, production budget, storyboards, shot list, call sheet, and a music cue sheet. Additionally, there are templates that will help you clearly present cast, location, and wardrobe options to the Sponsor. They can all be accessed here.

BUILDING YOUR TEAM: Tongal supports inclusivity in all of our productions and strongly encourages you to hire diverse talent for your team. To find staff & crew in your area, check out these resources and partners.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS: Once the Video Phase has closed, the greenlit submitters will enter the Revisions Phase. Filmmakers will perform reasonable edits on their videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback.

MUSIC: Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Jingle Punks, Universal Production Music and Epidemic Sound, any of which can be used to source music for your video submission to this project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into submissions to this project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the providers’ names above.

If you choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from third-party catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with your license purchase receipt when you turn in your video paperwork.

  14. The Sponsor will be entitled to reasonable revisions on the finished Videos without providing additional compensation. Remember it's easier to re-edit than re-shoot so try to get as much coverage as possible.

  15. In addition to the standard Tongal W-9, Winner Affidavit, and IP Assignment, greenlit Video creators MUST also provide Talent, Location, Music (or other) Releases for all assets appearing in their Videos, as well as a photograph/headshot OR copy of a photo ID for all On-camera Talent releases.
