Create an illustrated map in the style of classic Hollywood "star maps" depicting the major milestones on the road to WWE's WrestleMania 39.

Whether you're a fan of professional wrestling or not, chances are you've probably heard of WrestleMania. It's the Super Bowl of pro-wrestling and WWE's biggest show of the year, where feuds come to a head, where new champions are crowned, and where WWE Superstars put on iconic matches. This year, WrestleMania 39 will be going Hollywood, when it takes place in April at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California. To help drive excitement in the days leading up to WrestleMania, USA Network - the home of WWE's Monday Night RAW programming - is looking to create an illustrated map in the style of classic Hollywood "star maps," depicting the major storylines and milestones on the road to 'Mania.

When we say star maps, we're thinking about this style. So think along the lines of a series of intersecting lines that follow different WWE Superstars' journeys, with the final stop on the map being the home of WrestleMania 39: SoFi Stadium. We are looking for this map to be entirely illustrated, rather than using any photorealistic imagery. The various stops on the maps should represent different key milestones in the feud between each Superstar. The Sponsor will help you to determine what those milestones are, but we'll also be looking for your POV too.

Below are the specific Superstars and feuds we'd like to feature in the map design. You can read a bit more about each Superstar in the Background section below:

  • Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship
  • Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley for the SmackDown Women's Championship
  • Bianca Belair vs Asuka for the RAW Women's Championship

In your pitch, please tell us more about your illustration abilities, and any milestones you would want to include in your map design. You do not need to do any original design work in the pitch stage. For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

OPEN BID:

  • This is an open bid project, so you will get to set your own budget proposal up to $4,000. If it makes sense, you may feel free to submit multiple versions of your bid at a budget, target, and reach price point.
  • By participating in this open bid project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a bid. Though most open bid projects on our platform do move forward, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any bids via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all open bid submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

You can read more about the WWE Superstars that will be featured in this content below:

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed out in the Deliverables.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A more detailed and specific description of how you propose to execute all of the content listed out in the Deliverables, both in terms of what we can expect to see, and how you’ll make it. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous design work or portfolio.

  • BID (REQUIRED): This is an open bid project, and the Sponsor would like each producer to create all of the content listed in the Deliverables section within a budget total of up to $4,000. You do not need to include a full budget proposal, just your bid amount.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS & RESOURCES: Once the Design Phase has closed, the greenlit submitters will enter the Revisions Phase. Filmmakers will perform reasonable edits according to the Sponsor’s feedback. Check out our Filmmaker Resource Portal to access helpful post-production resources like Text-Safe Guides for different platforms, Project File Organization Tutorial, Export Presets, and Captioning services.

STOCK FOOTAGE: Tongal has partnered with the stock footage library STORYBLOCKS, which can be used to source photography for your submission to this project. Photo content from Storyblocks is available at no charge, solely for incorporation into submissions on this project, and content will not require a separate Release Form. If identifiable people or intellectual property appears in a photo, you may only utilize assets that are clearly marked “Model released: Yes” or “Property release: Yes” on the clip description pages.

If you intend to use Storyblocks, inform your Tongal producer beforehand, and an account will be created for you to access the library and its features. Once your submissions are approved by the Sponsor, you must provide a complete list of all Storyblocks content that you used via our template HERE.

ASSET DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS & RESOURCES: You must also provide all project files in order to submit final payment. You are responsible for the costs associated the hard drive and shipping.

To ensure a smoother delivery, please review the Export Presets, Specifications, and Project File Organization Tutorial in our Filmmaker Resource Portal.
