Using primarily stop-motion animation, create a fun, adventurous, and daring short social video that gets fans excited about the premiere of the new animated series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory by featuring consumer products from the Jurassic World universe.
Premiering later this year on Netflix, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory is a new animated series that will serve as a sequel to Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. To go alongside the premiere of the series, there will also be a bunch of new Jurassic World consumer products for fans to buy, and Universal Products & Experiences (UP&E) is looking for YOU to create a fun social video that both gets people excited for the new series and shows off the new products.
Similar to past installments in the Jurassic World franchise, in Chaos Theory, dinosaurs exist in the real world, living and hunting alongside humans all over the globe. UP&E wants you to use their new consumer products to tap into the idea that dinosaurs actually exist and live amongst us. Since the consumer products are mainly toys and action figures, UP&E is primarily looking for stop-motion animation executions, although live-action could work as well depending on your creative concept. The specific list of products will only be available to the greenlit filmmakers, but the general types of products include action figures, collectibles, and toys. Since you won't be able to see the specific products ahead of time, we encourage you to submit multiple creative concepts in your pitch treatment that could work with a variety of products, and make sure to note which types of consumer products you think would work best with each creative concept you submit. In the pitch phase, UP&E will mainly be evaluating your creative concept(s) and past work, and we will work with greenlit filmmakers during the pre-production phase to refine their concepts to match the specific products.
The products will be sold at Amazon, Target, and Walmart in the U.S., so UP&E is looking for three retailer-specific videos (i.e. one video for Amazon, one video for Target, and one video for Walmart), as well as four videos that are retailer-agnostic and feature a mix of products. Ultimately, UP&E is looking for SEVEN different creators to each produce ONE video. If greenlit, you will be provided with either a retailer-specific end card or a global end card that promotes this series as a whole.
In the end, your video should run between :15 and :30, and it should revolve around the excitement of discovery. You are welcome to incorporate voiceover and dialogue into your video, but be sure to clearly specify in your treatment how it would be used. You are also free to use references from any content within the Jurassic World franchise, so long as you stay true to the dinosaurs-in-our-world theme. UP&E does NOT want dinosaurs anthropomorphized (no talking, Hawaiian shirt-wearing raptors this time around, sorry!), and they DON'T want dinosaurs placed in totally outrageous scenarios. We want to treat the viewer's eye to a piece of movie magic, really placing you at the scene of a dinosaur discovery!

The most compelling pitches will be greenlit by the Sponsor, and the responsible creators will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.
Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal, typically included with the project timeline.
