Holiday Animation History Timeline Videos
Pitch
10/07/21 - 12/13/22

Create a winter holiday-themed video montage for Tongal's YouTube Channel, and shine a spotlight on the history of animation around holidays like Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza, or New Years Eve.

The Tongal Community consists of incredible creators and content makers, and over the years has continued to grow, with over 30,000 Subscribers on its YouTube Channel. Now we’re giving you the creative freedom to let your out-of-the-box ideas fly and play around and in the process, showcase your work to everyone and help us grow our community at the same time.

For this project, we’re asking up to 5 different creators to contribute to Tongal's Animation Montage series on YouTube by creating a video montage dedicated to one of the winter holidays listed below, exploring how it's been portrayed over the years. You can use clips from any animated series or films that you wish, so you have lots of flexibility, and we'd encourage you to bring your own approach to it, and look at different themes, styles, characters, tropes, changes, or other quirks that might be associated with a particular holiday or holidays.

  • Thanksgiving
  • Hanukkah
  • Christmas
  • Kwanza
  • New Years Eve

Videos are expected to follow the established format in the LGBTQ Representation in Animation and 101 Animated Sequences videos already on Tongal’s YouTube Channel. When you submit your videos, our producers may have revisions and suggestions. Videos typically feature anywhere between 6 to 15 clips per decade. If you have any questions, ask away in the forum!
