Create an informative and lighthearted series of YouTube videos that explain the features and benefits of both T-Mobile's High-Speed Internet Plus Plan, and their AWAY portable internet plan.

T-Mobile is already known for being America’s largest and fastest 5G cellular network, but now they're providing new connectivity at home, and wherever life takes you on the road, with two different high speed home internet plans that leverage the power of their 5G network. The first, High-Speed Internet Plus (HSI+), is fast, reliable home internet that uses a WiFi mesh system to expand the range of WiFi coverage in the house, and make sure you've got full connectivity even when you're flipping through TikTok in that hard-to-reach nook in the basement. The second, AWAY, provides portable, powerful home internet - when you're not actually at "home." Both plans can really boost the home internet experience, so they're really excited about the offering and they want to produce an educational but engaging YouTube series that can break down the plans, explain all the benefits, and entertain viewers.

The goal of this project is to create three roughly 3 minute long episodes of a High-Speed Internet video series, all about the topic of T-Mobile's High-Speed Internet, and how it operates. The first episode will be a general video explaining the "Extended High-Speed Internet Options" available from T-Mobile, the second episode will cover the "T-Mobile Home Internet Mesh System," and the third episode will specifically cover the AWAY plan. You can read more about the different plans and overall campaign aesthetic HERE, but the Background also has high-level details for each plan.

In terms of execution, we are looking for a live-action forward series where different hosts will be talking directly to the camera in a YouTube vlog style, but beyond that general concept, we want to see how you'd approach the style in your own interesting and unique way. Think about how you could incorporate motion graphics, typography, music, sound effects, stock footage, and/or even light animation overlays. Recent T-Mobile YouTube videos like the 5G explainer series, Tour Essentials with Lainey Wilson and The Hardest Part of the Las Vegas Race are good examples of the style we are looking to emulate for these videos. Importantly, we do want all three episodes to feel like they're part of the same series, so consider how you might do that, whether it's, for example, including consistent branded motion graphics throughout the video, or maybe having the same intro and outro for each video.

Locations are going to be important for this series, and this really can't be a studio execution. For HSI+, we'll be discussing homes that might benefit from a mesh network, which suggests that we'll need a property with lots of rooms or a unique setup, like a garage office, a "granny flat," or a basement, and we'll want to see our host move about from room to room. For AWAY, T-Mobile would actually like to feature an RV, so the video would need to take place within or directly outside a camper or RV. Whatever locations you decide to use, they should feel like real, lived-in home settings that feel appropriate for our host, as if it was their actual home or RV. In terms of casting, we want all three episodes to have a common theme, but we would actually prefer for there to be a separate host for each video, with a diverse range of casting.

T-Mobile will provide the basic information and research for each episode, but it will be up to your team to create the scripts for each video. If it's helpful, the brand team did provide an rough initial script for the mesh home internet episode, and you're welcome to use some of it, but you're not at all locked into it. T-Mobile will be able to provide you with the necessary Home Internet products for each video. Keep in mind that T-Mobile is proud of it's magenta color and their un-carrier culture, so you should think of ways to creatively bring in T-Mobile branding in tactful ways  - colors, logo iconography, etc. - through production design or motion graphics.

Each episode will require a cutdown, which will live on YouTube Shorts, and you should ensure that those cutdowns feel deliberate and distinct, and aren't merely reframed 16x9s. In your pitch, we'd recommend sharing how you'd approach the 9x16 assets differently and how you'd ensure that they'd be engaging on Shorts. Each episode will also need a thumbnail, with text included, which you can create using a still frame from the video. Thumbnails should all have a clean aesthetic and fit with the current T-Mobile thumbnail style.

Check out more information and reference videos in the Background, and for any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

EXPECTED TIMELINE: HERE

RELEVANT ASSETS: HERE

EXPOSURE: We expect content will be used on the platforms below, but if casting talent, be sure they review our required Talent Release before they're cast, as it is NOT limited to these platforms. You should also review our Music providers in the Project Requirements, as well as the platform best practices.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

  • Specifically users looking to learn more about Home Internet and Cellular Network options; ages 18-34
  • RV campers, road trippers, and sport fans who tailgate who need internet access

TONE/FEEL:

  • Informative, innovative, engaging, tech-forward
  • Lighthearted, straightforward, approachable, upbeat, fun, lively

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Your budget & production plan MUST account for a live feed for the T-Mobile team to monitor production remotely on the day(s) of production.
  • You should adhere to certain elements of the T-Mobile brand guidelines. A few specific call-outs are below:

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a submission. Though most projects do move forward, we'll notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any submissions via the Project Forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and project team.

HIGH-SPEED INTERNET (HSI) PLANS AND INFORMATION: These plans are best for those who have limited internet options where they live, and so they're forced into expensive traditional internet providers with contracts, price hikes, and hidden fees. They work especially well for people that may want to extend internet into their garage, backyard, or other part of their property, and the AWAY plan allows for the same great home internet service when someone needs to work on the road.

Home Internet PLUS: T-Mobile Home Internet leverages the power of the largest and fastest 5G network.  At T-Mobile all the great benefits are included in one plan.

  • Price Lock Guarantee
  • No equipment fees or annual contracts
  • Simple self-setup in 15 mins or less
  • Only plan that includes a mesh device and unlimited tech support.
  • Currently available to more than 50 million homes nationwide

Away Plan: A Wi-Fi Solution for Travelers

  • A 5G gateway included at no extra cost. Connect up to 64 devices at a time
  • Comes with the latest security features like WPA3, say goodbye to public Wi-Fi networks
  • Unlimited data option
  • Simple setup in 15 mins or less
  • Price Lock Guarantee

HELPFUL REFERENCE VIDEOS FOR INSPIRATION/TONE: The following are current videos on T-Mobile's YouTube Channel that do a nice job exploring and explaining different, though we are looking for your videos to be more engaging, entertaining, out of the box, and original while maintaining a format for a cohesive series.

In order to be considered, include the below materials in your submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery. All Pitches remain private, even after a Pitch is selected, and Tongal strives to have Pitch selections made by the end of the Evaluation period, but additional time may be required by the Sponsor, depending on any number of factors.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed out in the Deliverables.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A more detailed and specific description of how you propose to execute all of the content listed out in the Deliverables, both in terms of what we can expect to see, and how you’ll make it. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • SCRIPT (Optional): Include clear descriptions of the visuals or action, along with dialogue, voiceover, or on-screen text.

  • STORYBOARDS (Optional): To better illustrate your vision, include actual storyboards, additional concept art, shot lists, or anything that helps get your point across. You can download the Tongal storyboard template HERE.

  • HEADSHOTS/CASTING BOARDS (Optional): Provide actual, or potential, casting options for your content, with relevant notes, headshots, reels, etc.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

  • APPRENTICESHIP ADVISOR (Optional): The Tongal On-Set Apprenticeship Program is an opportunity to support new & emerging talent in production positions with hands-on on-set experience. Please indicate on the pitch submission form if you would be interested in overseeing an apprentice on your production; your answer will neither increase nor decrease the likelihood of your pitch being greenlit. Tongal will cover the apprentice's day rate outside of your project budget, and if you are matched with an apprentice, your Tongal producer will reach out with more information. To learn more about the On-Set Apprenticeship Program and the responsibilities of an advisor, please click HERE.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit by the Sponsor, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal, typically included with the project timeline.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to the commencement of actual production, creators MUST receive final approval from the Sponsor on the elements below. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until an element is approved.

If you begin production before you have received final approval, you may need to reshoot or reanimate at your own expense.

  • SCRIPT: Include clear descriptions of the visuals or action, along with dialogue, voiceover, or on-screen text, as relevant.
  • CASTING: Tongal advocates for inclusivity in on-screen representation and diversity in casting. Please submit three to four options per role, with at least one of those options being a person of color. It is preferable to share multimedia content (i.e. video & audio clips) to help the Sponsor gauge the talent's performance, rather than headshots or resumes.
  • STORYBOARD: Include individual images for each key beat in your video. It is best practice to include scripted dialogue or VO, along with on-screen text or disclaimers, under each panel in our Storyboards. If there are multiple unique videos, ensure you submit a Storyboard for each video.
  • LOCATION: Present images of your potential filming locations, and submit at least two options per location. If possible, please include context on where you intend to film within each location, what angles you might use, or how you might dress the location.
  • WARDROBE: Submit descriptions and/or pictures of your cast's wardrobe. You must submit at least two wardrobe options per role.

For convenience, we've provided some helpful templates that you can consider using for pre-production materials, and they can all be accessed here.

Check out our Filmmaker Resource Portal to access helpful post-production resources like Text-Safe Guides for different platforms, Project File Organization Tutorial, Export Presets, and Captioning services.

MUSIC: If you use music from a library for your content, you MUST use one of Tongal's music providers: Jingle Punks and Universal Production Music. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into submissions to this project, and will not require a Music Release Form. To learn more, click on any of the providers' names above.

If you choose to use original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. Please ensure your composer reviews and signs this form BEFORE beginning their work.

STOCK FOOTAGE: Tongal has partnered with the stock footage library STORYBLOCKS, which can be used to source video clips, photography, and After Effects templates for your video submission to this project. Video or photo content from Storyblocks is available at no charge, solely for incorporation into submissions on this project, and will not require a separate Release Form. If identifiable people or intellectual property appears in a video clip or photo, you may only utilize assets that are clearly marked “Model released: Yes” or “Property release: Yes” on the clip description pages. You may not use any audio.

If you intend to use Storyblocks, inform your Tongal producer, and an account will be created for you to access the library. Once assets are approved for delivery, you must provide a complete list of all Storyblocks content that you used via our template HERE.
