Create a suite of social videos that highlights the the got2b Metallics collection and how to apply/style its bold permanent hair color with a firm shoot date of 5/17, taking place near got2b's Stamford, CT headquarters (surrounding Stamford area, Westchester, NY, or NYC).

Göt2b® has been making a statement in the hair care aisle with their bold yellow packaging since 2001. Offering a wide array of styling and permanent hair color products, got2b was founded for those who look to express themselves through their hair, specializing in bold styles and unique colors. Their at-home hair color kits put salon quality hair coloring in the hands of everyday people. Now, they need a filmmaker to produce a full suite of videos that offer a brief tutorial that details how people can use and style your hair using their göt2b Metallics Ultra Deep Red product. It should leave people with that "Oh! That would look great on me!" feeling, showing consumers what göt2b hair color looks like on actual hair.

As mentioned above, this shoot will need to take place on Wednesday, May 17th somewhere nearby got2b's Stamford, CT headquarters (surrounding Stamford area, Westchester, NY, or NYC). The goal of this project is to film one person going through the process of dying and styling their own hair, while working with got2b's on-set stylist. The main, long-form tutorial video will be a step-by-step guide with on-screen text peppered in, and got2b has provided reference videos with the format, tone, and style in the Background section. The brand wants to match the format of the reference videos, but are open to creative spins that are in-line with the look and feel of those videos. There will also be a suite of cutdowns built from the main tutorial. These can include direct lifts from the long-form tutorial, and they'll include some before and after styling/dying videos where the vibe will less focused on specifically "how-to" and more focused on the results and the confidence our talent has attained after going through the process.

As mentioned above, there will be an on-set stylist provided by the brand to assist in the actual dying and styling process. Along with this, got2b's team will also be on-set to help nail the feel and the attitude of the shoot. Your execution should feel like we're capturing the preparation for a model's photoshoot, rather than seeing an influencer talking their audience through a product demo. There will be no VO in these so the videos will require the use of slick, on-brand motion graphics and on-screen text to accompany the visuals.

The long-form tutorial will be in 16x9 while the cutdowns will be solely in 9x16. Some thought should be put into how the 9x16 versions will be optimized for vertical; as they should not simply be a center-cut reframing. To keep these videos dynamic and energetic, we'd appreciate it if you developed some sort of interesting way to bridge the before and after sequences in some of these videos, almost to help build the excitement for a second before the reveal, rather than using a simple hard cut. Perhaps that means you're showing a little punch-in transitionary shot, where the talent is seen holding the bottle, but we're open to any kind of creative approach that helps to make that transitionary moment more fun and engaging.

In the Background section you will find links to the brand book, some key messaging to include, and a host of reference videos for style, tone, execution, and location. For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

Our priority is ensuring everyone's safety, so please review our COVID-19 Production Safety Guide and check federal, state, and local rules before and during your shoot to make sure your on-set protocols are up to date. We're working hard to keep people working during this extraordinary time, and you should ensure your submission is executable within the anticipated timeline and budget, while also ensuring everyone's safety.

Please indicate on the pitch submission form if you would be interested in overseeing an apprentice on your production; your answer will neither increase nor decrease the likelihood of your pitch being greenlit. Tongal will cover the apprentice's day rate outside of your project budget, and if you are matched with an apprentice, your Tongal producer will reach out with more information. To learn more about the On-Set Apprenticeship Program and the responsibilities of an advisor, please click HERE.

Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule HERE.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to shooting, filmmakers must receive the below approvals from the Sponsor.

  • TREATMENT: This project requires treatment approval. The treatment should describe how you plan to execute the video and how you plan to bring the storytelling to life visually. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your treatment and ask you to submit a new version. There may be up to multiple rounds of feedback until a treatment is approved by the Sponsor.
  • CASTING: This project requires casting approval. Tongal advocates for inclusivity in on-screen representation and diversity in casting. As a best practice, please submit three to four options per role, with at least one of those options being a person of color. If the Sponsor does not approve any of your options for a role, you may be asked to submit two new actor options. Additionally, owing to the risk of disruption from COVID, you will be expected to have backup talent approved by the Sponsor in advance of production to account for any last-minute changes.
  • LOCATION: This project requires location approval. This means you will need to submit multiple images of your primary filming location. The Sponsor may provide feedback on your location and ask you to submit additional photos or to find a new location and submit images for that.
  • WARDROBE: This project requires wardrobe approval. You will need to submit descriptions and/or pictures of your cast’s wardrobe. You must submit at least two wardrobe options per role. If the Sponsor does not approve either of your options for a role, you may be asked to submit two new wardrobe options.

For your convenience, we’ve provided some helpful templates to use at your discretion. They include templates for creating a treatment, production budget, storyboards, shot list, call sheet, and a music cue sheet. Additionally, there are templates that will help you clearly present cast, location, and wardrobe options to the Sponsor. They can all be accessed here.

BUILDING YOUR TEAM: Tongal supports inclusivity in all of our productions and strongly encourages you to hire diverse talent for your team. To find staff & crew in your area, check out these resources and partners.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS & RESOURCES: Once the Video Phase has closed, the greenlit submitters will enter the Revisions Phase.
