Using provided footage and some light motion graphics, edit a suite of videos promoting FoodCorps' mission to make clean nutrition accessible for kids in schools in underserved areas.

Since 2010, FoodCorps has been working with schools and communities around the nation to provide kids with nourishing meals, food education, and culturally affirming experiences with food that celebrate and nurture a sense of belonging. Now, Orgain is partnering with FoodCorps to help promote the cause and establish a better foundation for making clean nutrition accessible to kids in underserved communities. To help spread awareness of this amazing program, Orgain is looking two create a suite of edited videos using existing footage for use on social.

As mentioned above, all footage will be provided to you by Orgain. However, you will be responsible for developing the flow of the story based on the footage we have. In addition, you will be required to script language for voiceover, and cast a voiceover artist to bring that story to life. This is emotional subject matter, and we want to make sure that these videos make people stop in their tracks to learn more. It's important to note that the focus of the storytelling should be on FordCorps and their mission - rather than Orgain and its branding (which will really only be present on the endcard). Orgain will be providing bullet points of the beats they'd like to cover to assist with scripting. You can find additional details on some initial messaging points in the Background section below.

In addition to the scripting & VO, you may also need to use some light motion graphics to help support the storytelling and create a cohesive endcard for the videos. Orgain will provide graphics files to you, but you may be responsible for adding motion to bring them to life. However, please note that Orgain would like to stay grounded in the live action footage for the majority of the video, so any motion graphics should support that footage (rather than replace it). In your script, you should plan to note what information will be presented in text on screen/motion graphics.

For the purposes of the pitch phase, we're asking that you put together a :30 proof of concept (16x9) video illustrating your creative approach. We've provided sample footage for your use in the proof of concept HERE. VO is not required for the proof of concept, but you are welcome to include a scratch audio track if it's helpful in illustrating your vision. Music will also be key here - please select a track from one of Tongal's three partner music libraries for use in your proof of concept video that shows the energy & tone you are aiming for.

For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

Shooting live action or stop motion? Our priority is ensuring everyone's safety, and we're now requiring a COVID safety protocol plan for all relevant productions. Please review our COVID-19 Production Safety Guide and check federal, state, and local rules before and during your shoot to make sure your on-set protocols are up to date. We're working hard to keep people working during this extraordinary time, and you should ensure your submission is executable within the anticipated timeline and budget, while also ensuring everyone's safety.

  • Show how FoodCorps service members have impact on improving school nutritions (ideally 2-3 messaging points from the list below)
  • Explain how viewers can join Orgain to make a difference.

MESSAGING POINTS FOR THIS VIDEO:

These are some initial messaging points Orgain would like to cover in these videos. The greenlit filmmaker will be responsible for crafting these into a cohesive script

  • 30 million kids rely on school lunches every day.
  • 6 in 10 students in FoodCorps schools are more educated about and are more likely to try vegetables.
  • FoodCorps helped feed over 250,000 kids last year (and still, 500,000 will go without a lunch today).
  • Kids who get a daily breakfast show improved cognitive function.
  • Kids who ate veggies the day before perform better in school.
  • 73% of FoodCorps schools has measurably healthier food environments by the end of the school year.

All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.
