Create a suite of five "Edutok" style videos educating people on common misconceptions about money, and helping them take control of their finances through Chime.
Are you great at breaking down complex topics and making them easy to understand? Or are you an expert when it comes to creating TikTok-friendly explainer videos? If so, Chime - a financial technology company founded on the premise that basic banking services should be helpful, easy, and free - wants your help to create a suite of quick, educational videos breaking down common misconceptions about money, and providing helpful tips for viewers to take control of their finances. In success, this could become a recurring monthly opportunity for the greenlit creator.
The style we'll really be aiming for here is "Edutok," so think direct to camera dialogue, screen recordings, and other TikTok-friendly ways to clearly and concisely break down a topic. You can also see examples of previous educational content Chime team has been inspired by in the Background section. It is not necessary for you to have a large team or extensive production capacities to execute this project - videos should be shot on a phone and utilize visualize effects native to TikTok.
Casting will be very important here! We'll be looking for someone from within the target audience who feels confident and relatable, but can also make complex topics feel casual and understandable. Chime is working to establish familiar faces on their TikTok channel, so you can plan to feature the same talent across all videos. If you have casting options in mind (or if you plan to star yourself!), you are strongly encouraged to include those details in your pitch.
In terms of educational topics, Chime has identified five initial tutorial concepts, which you can view more about in the Background section below.
In your pitch materials, please break down how you would bring those topics to life. What would each video look like, and what might you (or your talent) say? If any of your executions require a specific song or rely on a music based trend, please include that information in your pitch. For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.
Love TikTok, but educational content isn't quite your specialty? Check out other Visual Effects/Transitions or Comedy Trends TikTok opportunities from Chime! This project, and the others, each have the potential to become recurring monthly opportunities if you're selected and succeed with your videos.
