Create an inspiring suite of docu-style videos about Geoff Foster and his business, Core Technology, to highlight his entrepreneurial journey and show how Bank of America has supported him along the way. This will require a 2-day shoot from 7/30 to 7/31 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
***Only U.S. Residents are eligible to submit for this project.***
The goal of this project is to create a 2-3 minute video following Geoff Foster and his business, Core Technology. Geoff started his plastic injecting molding company in 2006 with a mission of bring innovation in technology and operations to discover new solutions by fostering the creativity of their employees and their customers.
In telling Core Technology's business story, we're looking to put Geoff Foster and his entrepreneurial journey at the forefront and position Bank of America as a supporting role in the narrative. This will involve filming both an engaging on-camera video interview and b-roll footage that showcases both his business and his personal life. Bank of America wants this to feel cinematic and elevated, and they're looking for that perfect blend between polished commercial images and traditional documentary coverage. By the end of the video, audiences should feel inspired by Geoff's journey, while also understanding some of the services Bank of America has provided along the way.
Another key piece of Geoff's story is his commitment to empowering the next generation of engineers through his Molding Kids for Success initiative. Molding Kids For Success is a non-profit organization that strives to educate the youth of his community in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This is done by combining classroom experiments with real-world applications on the manufacturing floor. He hosts summer camps at his business where kids are exposed to plastics engineering and robotics, and we will want to capture b-roll footage of kids participating in one of these camps.
During the process of interviewing Geoff Foster, you'll also need to interview Bank of America's President of Business Banking. The executive will serve as the Bank's representative, and speak in further detail about Bank of America's commitment to supporting entrepreneurs and helping business owners grow and realize their dreams. You'll be required to have a two-camera set-up for the on-camera interviews. You will be responsible for providing a hair and make-up artist for the on screen talent and bank executive for both shoot days. The selected hair and make-up artist must be familiar and skilled with Black hair and skin tones. In addition, your production team must have experience lighting Black skin tones.
You should familiarize yourself with Bank of America's Center for Business Empowerment site to understand broadly the types of resources and insights that Bank of America provides to entrepreneurs to help their business prosper and grow.
To manage this suite of deliverables, we highly recommend that you either edit yourself or have a robust editing team that can handle quick turnarounds with all or most deliverables being flipped simultaneously.
During the pitch process, shortlisted filmmakers will be interviewed by the Tongal team about their creative process, interview style, and post-production capacities. These interviews will take place on Tuesday, May 20th or Tuesday, May 21st. Filmmakers will be notified if they made it to the interview round on Monday, May 19th.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:
By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a submission. Though most projects do move forward, we'll notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any submissions via the Project Forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and project team.
Due to unforeseen schedule changes, Bank of America has decided not to move forward with a Pitch on this project at this time. We were made aware of the schedule changes after the Pitch phase closed, and we were deep in the review process of the pitches by that point (all of which were incredibly thorough and thoughtful).
Though most Projects do move forward with a selected Pitch, we will always notify you in the event the Sponsor has decided not to move forward. Please note that regardless of the results, all submissions are reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the Project Team. We sincerely appreciate your time and effort on this project.
In order to be considered, include the below materials in your submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery. All Pitches remain private, even after a Pitch is selected, and Tongal strives to have Pitch selections made by the end of the Evaluation period, but additional time may be required by the Sponsor, depending on any number of factors.
The most compelling pitch will be greenlit by the Sponsor, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.
Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal, typically included with the project timeline.
