Produce a fresh and fun suite of social videos that inspire consumers to include Sister Schubert's line of dinner rolls - a typical holiday staple - as a normal part of everyday meals.

This product will only ship to the United States and Canada, so while you can be based in another country, you must be able to receive the product at a US or Canadian address if execution requires physical product.

Sister Schubert's breads are known for their irresistible, homemade taste and quality. Crafted with care and using the finest ingredients, each roll reflects the brand's commitment to delivering a delicious and comforting dining experience. With a heritage rooted in Southern hospitality, their breads are a delightful addition to any table for the holidays, for family gatherings, and - increasingly - for everyday meals. In fact, while Sister Schubert's have long been a staple for many family's holiday meals, like Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, the brand wants to focus more on establishing their rolls the go-to option for families, not only for their holiday meals, but for all the meals in-between.

The goal is to create a short suite of digital videos that excite, engage, and educate audiences, with the message that that Sister Schubert's rolls aren't only for the holidays. We are looking for creative executions that show how adding Sister Schubert's to your weekly meal plans can help bring the same excitement and spectacle of a holiday meal to everyday occasions. However, while the brand is open to referencing holidays in these videos, it's not actually mandatory to spotlight, or even reference, any specific holiday. The main hero for these videos will be their signature Dinner Rolls, but the brand would love to show their full line of products in the end cards too. Creatively, the target audience for these videos is families, and specifically families with children, so please keep that in mind as you develop your concepts. You should also check out the Background for some reference videos for tone, along with some key messaging that can be included in the videos.

This is not necessarily about creating a traditional narrative - we're looking for clever, heartwarming content, but it can be more direct, with the right creative approach. Sister Schubert's have made videos similar to this in the past (which are down in the Background) and one way or another, they want to see executions that are unique and fresh - like their rolls. We want this to feel polished and professional, so it shouldn't be lo-fi smartphone-shot content, but we're not actually looking for an elaborate "commercial" execution. Importantly, they want to see the product on screen, so that may mean it's a personality-driven piece led by talent, handling product, or it may mean something else entirely, perhaps driven entirely by b-roll of families with on-screen text and VO.

Live action is what Sister Schubert's is thinking, but they're open to other executions, like a slick motion graphics or animated treatments as long as you account for showing the physical product in some way in the video. We want to demonstrate the emotional and functional benefits of the products - such as the minimal prep time and homemade taste - but beyond that, it's really how you're delivering your message, and the visuals you're pairing with that message, that will be key. Regardless of chosen execution, the brand will require the use of light motion graphics and on-screen text.  While you certainly can have the message of the video delivered through VO, it's not mandatory.

Each video will have a 16x9 version as well as a 1x1 and 9x16 version, and while cutdowns can be created with direct pulls from the main hero videos, some thought should be put into how the 1x1 and 9x16 versions will be optimized for vertical; as they should not simply be a center-cut reframing.

Note that there is another Sister Schubert's project live on Tongal right now with a similar ask, and they're willing to consider the same filmmaker(s) for both. If you plan to pitch on both projects please be sure to differentiate your pitches, as your approach will need to be different for each project. For more information check out the Background section, and for any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

In order to be considered, include the below materials in your submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery. All Pitches remain private, even after a Pitch is selected, and Tongal strives to have Pitch selections made by the end of the Evaluation period, but additional time may be required by the Sponsor, depending on any number of factors.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed in the Deliverables.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A more detailed and specific description of how you propose to execute all of the content listed out in the Deliverables. Explain what we can expect to see, and how you'll make it. If it's helpful, we've provided a treatment template HERE.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, editor, artist, etc.) but do not include links to your showreel. Please link to individual videos.

  • APPRENTICESHIP ADVISOR (Optional): The Tongal On-Set Apprenticeship Program is an opportunity to support new & emerging talent in production positions with hands-on on-set experience. Please indicate on the pitch submission form if you would be interested in overseeing an apprentice on your production; your answer will neither increase nor decrease the likelihood of your pitch being greenlit. Tongal will cover the apprentice's day rate outside of your project budget, and if you are matched with an apprentice, your Tongal producer will reach out with more information. To learn more about the On-Set Apprenticeship Program and the responsibilities of an advisor, please click HERE.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show what you're capable of. Consider a video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect, or consider test videos, proof-of-concept edits, animatics, etc. For examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit by the Sponsor, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal, typically included with the project timeline.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to the commencement of actual production, creators MUST receive final approval from the Sponsor on the elements below. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until an element is approved.

If you begin production before you have received final approval, you may need to reshoot or reanimate at your own expense.

  • SCRIPT: Include clear descriptions of the visuals or action, along with dialogue, voiceover, or on-screen text, as relevant.
  • CASTING: Tongal advocates for inclusivity in on-screen representation and diversity in casting. Please submit three to four options per role, with at least one of those options being a person of color. It is preferable to share multimedia content (i.e. video & audio clips) to help the Sponsor gauge the talent's performance, rather than headshots or resumes.
  • LOCATION: Present images of your potential filming locations, and submit at least two options per location. If possible, please include context on where you intend to film within each location, what angles you might use, or how you might dress the location.
  • WARDROBE: Submit descriptions and/or pictures of your cast's wardrobe. You must submit at least two wardrobe options per role.

For convenience, we've provided some helpful templates that you can consider using for pre-production materials, and they can all be accessed here.
