Remotely produce and direct four different testimonial video interviews with real WeightWatchers members, and then edit together a suite of social videos that raise awareness about WeightWatchers Clinic and drives new member signups.
As a world leader in Weight Health, WeightWatchers knows weight loss isn’t one-size-fits-all. WeightWatchers Clinic, a new offering from WeightWatchers, supports a distinct member journey that pairs prescription weight-loss medications (for those who qualify) with their trusted science-backed program – a powerful solution for those whose biology may be blocking their ability to lose weight. Unlike many others, the WeightWatchers approach recognizes obesity as a chronic condition. They’ve launched WeightWatchers Clinic not only to improve accessibility and care standards but also to reduce weight stigma for all.
WeightWatchers Clinic offers a comprehensive approach to weight care. As a member, people gain access to 1-on-1 check-ins with doctors, a tailored nutrition program, prescription weight loss medication (for those who qualify), insurance coordination to maximize coverage, and ongoing support from a dedicated Care Team including dietitians and fitness trainers. WeightWatchers wants to create a suite of social testimonial videos, featuring four real WeightWatchers Clinic members, to help raise awareness and drive new member signups by showcasing their experience and how the program has positively impacted their lives. These members are located all over the United States though, so we'll be asking them to film themselves for this mini-campaign - but each of them has limited content creation capabilities, and the level of their production know-how varies. With that in mind, WeightWatchers really needs someone to help elevate the production of their videos, and then tie it all together in post-production, and that's where you come in.
WeightWatchers is looking for a talented filmmaker/editor or team to act as a campaign director to help produce and direct the WeightWatchers Clinic members and ensure they'll able to capture high-gloss footage from home, including supplemental b-roll footage to pepper throughout their testimonial videos. Given that the members are filming themselves, the challenge here will be helping them elevate their game. Do they need a basic camera package or a microphone mailed to them? Are they experienced with finding (or creating) the best lighting in the room? Are they able to sound natural when speaking scripted lines? These are all potential problems that we need YOU to help solve to make their interviews look and feel effortless, professional, and fun - and we're curious to see how you want to go about it, and what experience you might have with similar asks.
Ultimately, you will be responsible for creating a robust treatment with creative and technical guidance for the WeightWatchers members. You can assume that they will be filming at home, and likely filming themselves, although you'll want to confirm that with each member. Otherwise, any and all relevant information that can help to smooth out the process and elevate the output should be provided for, such as iPhone camera settings, frame rate, aspect ratio, shot list, location guidance, wardrobe guidance, sound guidance, lighting guidance, delivery method, remote viewing protocol, etc. You may even want to briefly film yourself to create a template or example, and when it then comes time for production, you'll still need to join their self tape remotely, and help oversee the production of each video directly, so you'll have the ability to make last minute adjustments. WeightWatchers will also be joining the shoots remotely to ensure the members are hitting key talking points with the correct verbiage.
After production, you will also be responsible for editing together a suite of testimonial social videos. Each of the four members will have their own "solo" testimonial video, and there will four additional videos that focus on a singular theme by weaving together footage from each interview. This is likely to be a collaborative process between both the members and WeightWatchers, but as Campaign Director, you will also play a key role in planning the shoots and the ultimate edits that come out of them.
For your pitch, be sure to address how you'd tackle overseeing the remote member shoots from a logistical perspective, while also covering your creative approach for the social videos. We're asking for a bid with each pitch, but we'd also like to see a budget topsheet that might account for any equipment or gear that you'd recommend - and note that the budget provided should be inclusive of any gear that you rent or purchase for the member shoots, and account for incidentals like domestic shipping. This will be a fluid process, and we will work with you to nail everything down upon being greenlit.

In order to be considered, include the below materials in your submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery. All Pitches remain private, even after a Pitch is selected, and Tongal strives to have Pitch selections made by the end of the Evaluation period, but additional time may be required by the Sponsor, depending on any number of factors.
The most compelling pitch will be greenlit by the Sponsor, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.
Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal, typically included with the project timeline.
PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to the commencement of actual production, creators MUST receive final approval from the Sponsor on the elements below. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until an element is approved.
If you begin production before you have received final approval, you may need to reshoot or reanimate at your own expense.
For convenience, we've provided some helpful templates that you can consider using for pre-production materials, and they can all be accessed here.
