Edit together an effortless and edgy "Brat" green style multi-show video edit and some static images featuring characters from popular BritBox comedic shows.
*This is a fast-moving timeline with master files due by 8/12*
Lime green is having its moment thanks to Charli XCX’s hit new album, “Brat." Fans were particularly taken by the album's distinctive yet minimalistic cover art, with “brat” written in low-res font on a lime green background, and they quickly took to social media to claim this summer season with the Brat aesthetic. BritBox is eager to be a part of the conversation and would like to create social assets using existing photos and videos of popular characters and shows that you can stream now on BritBox.
We are looking for an editor and designer to work with existing assets to create an up to 2-minute multi-show video edit, as well as up to 20 additional static images, that all embody the Brat green (hex #8ACE00) aesthetic, and that feature the most quirky and fabulous Britbox comedy cast members. You can take a look at which shows and characters we're aiming to focus on in the Background. We're aiming to show North American audiences that BritBox understands the bold, effortless, and slightly retro Brat look, while embodying with a youthful, rebellious spirit, making it the perfect and fresh destination for comedy show-binging as the summer comes to an end.
There is a chance that both the video and static assets might be combined as a single Instagram carousel, so they should feel like one cohesive campaign across all assets. For the video portion, you can edit together clips from various BritBox comedies with the stylistic flair of the Brat green color. In terms of audio, we are looking to find music, using the Tongal music providers, that is either a remix or a track similar to that on the Brat album. You should not use any show audio or clip dialogue throughout the video, as we want to focus more on the visuals than any character dialogue. The video will be made for 9x16 so you should consider how to hook people from the start on TikTok and Instagram, using show clips together and possibly even additional imagery, graphics, or text. Creatively, you are welcome to have some fun with the video and could even lean into other recent social trends, as long as you keep any graphics or text in the safety zones and keep the Brat aesthetic throughout.
When it comes to the static assets, we just need one simple overlay template that can be used across all the images; this would consist of adding a “Brat green” vignette around all visuals with a slightly pixelated “BratBox” logo in the center at 75% opacity. You will be expected to create the "BratBox" logo, which will be a recreation of the current BritBox logo using lower case museo sans font in 500 or 700.
Critically, you must also work within the Adobe Suite for this project, and for your pitch submission, we're looking for you to edit a :15-:30 sample video to display how you would cut together the different clips dynamically and interestingly. We won't be able to provide video assets for the initial pitch, so feel free to scour YouTube and any other sources you have for the footage you need to build your edit. BritBox will ultimately provide high-res footage if you're selected.
