Using a script provided by eos, create a short, humorous live-action reaction video for broadcast, streaming, and social media, featuring guest star Sassy Shea, the eos mascot for Shea Better Body Lotion.

Please note: In order to participate in this project, you must be able to receive eos product with a U.S. mailing address and conduct the shoot within the U.S.

evolution of smooth - known simply as eos - is a colorful and innovative personal care brand known for their unique and quality catalogue of products. eos, "keeping lips, hoo-has, and everything in between smooth since '09" never shys away from the humorous side of self care, and is looking for a talented filmmaker to create a hilarious and high-performing reaction video featuring Sassy Shea, eos's own Shea Better Body Lotion Mascot.

For this project, eos will be providing a concept, as well as actual scripts. We can't get into great detail, but we can share that the concept involves a seemingly prim and proper older British granny, but her chill, sometimes savage, attitude might surprise you. She'll be reacting to something unexpected while being accompanied by our sassy Body Lotion mascot. While eos is pretty set on the concept, the specifics of the actual execution, and including the performance of the reactions, is entirely up to your comedic sensibilities. We want someone who can bring the script to life with strong casting choices, great comedic direction, snappy editing, and smart production design. Once a filmmaker is greenlit we'll be able to share more details about the concept and the script.

While we're primarily looking for live action, there is still a need for some fun on-screen titles and graphics. Consider your plan for graphics and what you'll do in post-production to elevate the reactions and humor, while still capturing the colorful and vibrant identity that eos is known for. Also, with this being a two-character setup, it may be easier to tackle the 16x9, but the 9x16 versions are important too, so you should think holistically about how you'll handle each aspect ratio. Cutdowns will be shorter, punchier versions of the main video, tailored for social media as teasers, or potentially feature alternative takes of comedic reactions not in the main video. Once presented with the main scripts the greenlit creator will collaborate with eos on the best approach and direction for the cutdowns through pre-production.

For your pitch, we'd recommend outlining your approach to the vertical aspect ratios, and sharing whether you'll do any additional shooting to accommodate that format. We'd love to see your approach to graphics and on screen supers, as well. In terms of casting, we're looking for demo reels that showcase potential talent's comedic timing, delivery, and physical comedy. You'll need one actor to don the lotion bottle suit to embody Sassy Shea, who won't necessarily be reacting, but who should play a comedic, even slightly sensual part in the video. Our other onscreen talent will take on the role of our British Granny. For examples of successful casting in previous projects please refer to eos's recent FOAMO video.

DELIVERABLES: There are 21 total video assets.

  • One :60 hero video (16x9, 9x16, 4x5)
  • Six cut downs (16x9, 9x16, 4x5)

TIMELINE: HERE

EXPOSURE: We anticipate content will be used on the platforms listed below, but if casting talent, please be sure your talent reviews the required Talent Release, as it is not limited to these platforms. You should also review our Music providers in the Project Requirements, as well as the platform best practices page.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Female identifying Gen-Z/Millennials

TONE: Hilarious, wild, comedic, dead-pan, potentially raunchy, fun, charming

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • An eos representative will need to monitor the shoot either virtually or present on set, so plan accordingly in terms of video village, production assistants, and catering.
  • One casting of a British Granny who is prim and proper in appearance, but still chill on the inside, with the ability to bring authentic energy and tone to the reactions. Should be able to play off their counterpart.
  • One casting to embody Sassy Shea to communicate solely using body language while in a full mascot suit. This suit will fit a medium-built person about 5’7", and while slightly shorter or a little caller might work, there's a limited amount of adjustment that you can do. ( We will coordinate with the greenlit team on delivery of the suit, whether shipment or otherwise, during preproduction.)
  • The location should be the sitting room of our seemingly prim and proper British Granny and should be styled appropriately.
  • While still being playful and fun, the reactions should be authentic. You MUST avoid over-the-top facial expressions and reactions
  • Your video MUST end on a strong product shot.
  • The eos brand is a positive-minded organization that respects people's bodies and diversity. Your videos MUST do the same.

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a submission. Though most projects on our platform do move forward, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any submissions via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed out in the Deliverables.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A more detailed and specific description of how you propose to execute all of the content listed out in the Deliverables, both in terms of what we can expect to see, and how you’ll make it. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • HEADSHOTS/CASTING BOARDS/REELS (REQUIRED): Casting notes or concepts, headshots of actors, etc.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

  • APPRENTICESHIP ADVISOR (Optional): The Tongal On-Set Apprenticeship Program is an opportunity to support new & emerging talent in production positions with hands-on on-set experience. Please indicate on the pitch submission form if you would be interested in overseeing an apprentice on your production; your answer will neither increase nor decrease the likelihood of your pitch being greenlit. Tongal will cover the apprentice's day rate outside of your project budget, and if you are matched with an apprentice, your Tongal producer will reach out with more information. To learn more about the On-Set Apprenticeship Program and the responsibilities of an advisor, please click HERE.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the timeline.

If you begin production before you have received final approval, you may need to reshoot or reanimate at your own expense.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to the commencement of actual production, creators MUST receive final approval from the Sponsor on the elements below. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until an element is approved.

  • TREATMENT: Describe in detail how you plan to execute the content, and how you plan to bring it to life visually. Feel free to use concept art, references, style frames, or mock-ups. If relevant, share additional information about your team, and your process.
  • CASTING: Tongal advocates for inclusivity in on-screen representation and diversity in casting. Please submit three to four options per role, with at least one of those options being a person of color. It is preferable to share multimedia content (i.e. video & audio clips) to help the Sponsor gauge the talent’s performance, rather than headshots or resumes.
