Create a big, bold suite of vibrant and dynamic animated videos for T-Mobile to support their career team's efforts to promote everything from their employee benefits to T-Mobile's corporate sustainability efforts.

T-Mobile's always got a lot of good stuff going on, and although we often talk about all the cool products and services it's got, this time around we're talking about what a dope place it is to work, and we're going to spotlight some of the incredible work they're doing for their employees, their communities, and the world at large. As usual, we're going to do it with cool visuals too, so - animators, illustrators, and all you other wizards of design - you get to have some fun here. In this project, T-Mobile wants us to create a mix of short animated social videos and static images that their own employees can post on social media to tell people about the different kinds of benefits they offer, and what T-Mobile is doing for sustainability and corporate responsibility.

The goal here is to greenlight two different creators, who will each then create a suite of ten total assets: three videos, and seven static images. The content needs to be bright, creative, striking, and exciting, and it will cover a range of topics: some topics will require both a short animated video and a static image, but some will only require two static images. Either way, they should convey key messaging about the various things that set T-Mobile apart. Videos can be anywhere from :05 to :20, but know that when they're used, they'll LOOP, so it'd be cool if you planned for that. In particular, keep in mind that music shouldn't just cut out abruptly, and that sound effects tend to be more effective.

There are ten topics that T-Mobile would like to cover, but they've been divided into two separate suites, so you won't be responsible for everything. You're free to pick whichever suite you like best when you submit, but you can also pitch against both. Obviously, please indicate in your pitch which suite you're basing your creative on. The two suites are below, but there's a lot more information in the Background.

Suite A: T-Mobile Employee Benefits

  • Adoption & Surrogacy Assistance (video + static image)
  • Tuition Assistance (video + static image)
  • No-Cost Counseling Sessions (video + static image)
  • LiveMagenta Programs (two static images)
  • LiveMagenta Life Coach (two static images)

Suite B: Sustainability & Responsibility + Military Benefits

  • Renewable Energy (video + static image)
  • Recycled Devices (video + static image)
  • Military Benefits (video + static image)
  • Community Emergency Response (two static images)
  • Military Compensation Plan (two static images)

Stylistically, we are looking for variety, and in the world of animation we're open to 2D and traditional motion graphics, but also stop motion, 3D, papercraft, mixed media, or something else entirely. You should also keep in mind that this is primarily for T-Mobile's employees to share, and they're gonna share this on their own social feeds, for their own family and friends and business contacts. That means your style can't feel über corporate. Polished and professional, sure, but T-Mobile's the Un-carrier - think cool, clever, even a little quirky. You can use stock photography, but we don't want to see stock photos of smiling actors against a magenta background with some text - that's boring. We're also looking for more than motion text with crazy abstract shapes and lines. We've shared a ton of different cool examples down in the Background, and you'll see there's A LOT of variety.

Your suite should certainly feel cohesive, but each asset should work on its own, and the includes the static images, which should be original assets and NOT just screengrabs from a video. Consider that there's a level of graphic design that's expected and that you'll need to include text for the main messages. You may easily alter some of the information that is already on the T-Mobile website for that messaging by taking one or two lines of the benefit and sustainability description. In other words, you won't need to create brand-new copy; instead, consider how you may combine copy with compelling visuals.

For your pitch, we highly recommend submitting a proof of concept video or static image along with your Treatment. For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a bid. Though most open bid projects on our platform do move forward with a greenlit bid, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any bids via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all open bid submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

Shooting live action or stop motion? Our priority is ensuring everyone's safety, so please review our COVID-19 Production Safety Guide and check federal, state, and local rules before and during your shoot to make sure your on-set protocols are up to date. We're working hard to keep people working during this extraordinary time, and you should ensure your submission is executable within the anticipated timeline and budget, while also ensuring everyone's safety.

Suite Option A: T-Mobile Employee Benefits - T-Mobile would like to focus on these 5 key employee benefits. You can find more information in their publicly available Benefits Guide, but the key messaging for your videos is covered below. Note that this messaging is NOT necessarily copy that you'd use in your video, so don't just take it word for word.

  • Adoption & Surrogacy Assistance (video + static image): T-Mobile offers up to $14,000 per child in adoption and surrogacy assistance for both full and part-time employees. Because, well, family matters.
  • Tuition Assistance (video + static image): It’s never too late to go back to school. After 90 days of employment, employees become eligible for classes directly related to your position or another role at T-Mobile. Classes must be approved in advance. T-Mobile pays schools directly for tuition on behalf of eligible employees when courses are completed successfully with a C- or better, up to $5,250 annually for full-time employees and $2,500 for part-time employees.
  • 10 No-Cost Counseling Sessions (video + static image): Experiencing difficult times, trying to help a family member, or looking to learn how to help support and encourage someone in an emotional or mental health crisis? Connect with support for a range of issues from anxiety or depression to relationship or work/life balance issues or dealing with caregiver stress, among many others. Employees and their covered family members also get 10 no-cost counseling sessions per topic.
  • LiveMagenta Programs (two static images): When life happens—money stressors, family issues, health challenges, you name it—LiveMagenta’s got the support you need. Get your own expert money coach, connect with a LiveMagenta life coach, access 10 counseling sessions per topic at no cost, and use state-of-the-art apps to work on your health, finances, resiliency, and more. • LiveMagenta Life Coach (two static images): LiveMagenta life coaches are master’s level specialists available around the clock to help with a variety of concerns, like grief counseling, relationship troubles, stress, depression, referrals to financial/legal/emotional support, and more.

Suite Option B: Company Sustainability & Responsibility + Military Benefits - T-Mobile would like to focus this suite on a mix of their corporate sustainability and responsibility efforts, as well as some of the benefits they offer to veterans and members of the military. This messaging is NOT necessarily copy that you'd use in your video, so don't just take it word for word.

  • Renewable Energy (video + static image) - 1. T-Mobile sources 100% of our electricity from renewable energy. Check out more info on their sustainability page.
  • Recycled Devices (video + static image) - T-Mobile has recycled over 11.6 million devices Check out more info on their Device Recycling Program.
  • Community Emergency Response (two static images) - T-Mobile's Emergency Response Program is ready 24/7/365 to support communities in times of crisis, whether it's through network resilience and connectivity, putting boots on the ground, or making substantial donations of technology or funds.
  • Military Benefits & Compensation Plan (video + static image for benefits, two static images for compensation):
    • Military Compensation plan includes your full T-Mobile base pay (plus target incentive, if applicable) and paid leave up to 20 workdays per calendar year for military activities, including drill weekends. Health coverage continues for 52 weeks following deployment.
    • Military leave: all employees are eligible for military leave upon their date of hire.
    • Reserve training: your pay and benefits continue for your two-week annual training.
    • Deployment coverage: after your first two weeks away, T-Mobile has you covered with benefits and supplemental pay for up to six months of deployment

PREVIOUS T-MOBILE GIFS: These are just a few of the recent GIFs and videos created on Tongal, and they're a good example of how much stylistic diversity and freedom you have in approaching this project. For the static image assets, take a look at these and imagine what a single frame would look like.

  • Awesome Audio Products Social GIFs - Five different GIFs that are also prime examples of what we mean by "unexpected," like the "lion roaring" GIF as a way to express powerful sound.
  • Employee Quote Video - To bring a simple quote to life, this video incorporates a dynamic layered design and enough movement to keep things feeling energetic, while bringing in some graphic design and T-Mobile employee imagery that ties into the quote's theme.
  • Motorola Edge GIF - With a playful use of stock imagery and motion graphics, this brings a lot of messaging about features to a short GIF that uses its visuals to reinforce the messages and keep things feeling fresh throughout.
  • Coolest Quarterly Report GIF - This pop-art approach is a great example of an "unexpected" approach that really brings style to the front.
  • Scam Shield GIF - The Scam Shield iconography that T-Mobile uses is pretty simple, so this GIF kept the messaging simple, but went over the top, and the extra style draws the eye and elevates this over a more straightforward version that might just have T-Mobile's actual Scam Shield logo.
  • Careers & Opportunities Videos - Although not technically GIFs, the style here is very much in line with this project.
