Is 2D animation your jam?  Submit your pitch to animate the Astroloopers 30-second animation test!

Astroloopers is a 2D animated series for preschool kids that Tongal is developing with Little Red Truck licensing company. Our goal with this project is to create a 30-second animation test that will take our pitch package to the next level.  The animation test should resemble a fun, attention grabbing, catchy opening sequence that introduces the main characters, world, tone, & premise.  Think Paw Patrol!

PLEASE NOTE: We will be providing the greenlit animation team with the following materials:

  • A 30-second theme song to animate to. *You will not be responsible for any dialogue, recording, or music.
  • A rough outline of what should happen in the sequence. *This will serve as the "script." You should follow the outline, but you also have artistic liberty to get creative and really bring this world to life in animation.
  • Character & location concept designs. *You will be responsible for converting existing designs into 2D assets. We will be providing approximately 8 characters designs and 1-2 main environment designs for adaptation. Keep in mind, the characters will all have different props or gadgets. And there may be more original visual development required. The Pre-production phase will consist of this + animatic.

DELIVERABLES:

  • One 30-second 2D animation test
    • Including your 2D adaptation of the designs provided (8 characters & 1-2 environments).
    • There may be more original visual development required.
  • All project files

TIMELINE: For the full project timeline please see the Assets tab.

EXPOSURE:

  • This animation test will be used for the purposes of pitching the animated series.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

  • Our viewers are preschool children ages 3-6.

TONE:

  • Fun, exciting, adventurous, inclusive, friendly, humorous!  This series deals with colorful characters and whimsical situations, while also centering on lessons of communication and emotional intelligence.

OPEN BID: This is an Open Bid project, so you will get to set your own budget proposal within $5,000-8,000 range. The Sponsor is interested in seeing tiered pricing options, so please feel free to submit various versions of your pitch at budget, target, and reach price points within that price range.

By participating in this Open Bid project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a Bid. Though most Open Bid projects on our platform do move forward with a greenlit Bid, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any Bids via the Project Forum. Regardless of the result, all Open Bid submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the Project Team.

As the “AAA of the galaxy,” the Astroloopers are four heroic cars that help space travelers in need across the universe. On their super fun adventures they’ll make friends, solve problems, and learn valuable communication skills.

Every mission takes the Astroloopers somewhere unique. You never know what you’re gonna find! No matter where they go, the Astroloopers are sure to encounter new friends and adventures!

When they're not out on missions, our "Galaxy Responders" live and play at the Galactic Garage, a super cool home base located on a huge asteroid floating through space!

Our goal with this series is to entertain and delight preschoolers, while also exposing them to a curriculum that centers around important themes of interpersonal communication, teamwork, sensitivity to those around us, and emotional intelligence.

The most compelling Pitch will be greenlit, and upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, the responsible creator will receive funding. Please note the payment of the Pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets tab.
