Pitch
09/20/23 - 09/26/23
Video
09/29/23 - 10/04/23

Design a full suite of content, including a logo, and provide social posting copy to accompany it, that will help [solidcore] promote and celebrate their upcoming 10th Anniversary.

Clients of [solidcore] have now been sweating and shaking under the blue lights for nearly a decade. If you haven't been under the blue lights yourself, know that a [solidcore] workout is 50 minutes of continuous work on their signature [sweatlana] fitness machine, set to bumping music, underneath dim lights that let you focus on your body. On November 2nd, 2023 [solidcore] will celebrate their 10th birthday. To celebrate 10 years of this iconic workout, the [solidcore] team has some celebrations planned, ranging from in-studio parties to [solidcore] tattoos, fully paid for by [solidcore]. The goal of this project is to help generate awareness and excitement around those plans by producing a suite of content for social media and digital platforms, including the posting copy to accompany it.

There will be celebrations of the 10th Anniversary in-studio, on their website, and in the app. Your job will be to create supporting materials to help get the word out so that [solidcore] clients can celebrate alongside [solidcore] employees. The first place a lot of clients find out about [solidcore] events is on their Instagram channel. Accordingly, you'll be creating several social assets to help get the word out about the tattoo element of the celebrations. In each city with a [solidore] location, the first 10 people who want to get a [solidcore] tattoo will get it paid for by [solidcore]. Using dynamic text and motion graphics, along with the tattoo designs, you'll be creating an Instagram Reel announcing the opportunity and an Instagram Story letting people know it's their last chance to take advantage of the offer. You'll also be tasked with laying out the details in four slides to be used in their story to accompany the IG Reel announcement. Since this will be announced shortly before Halloween you should find creative ways to incorporate Halloween theming into your videos.

To capture the attention of those who might not be as social-savvy, you'll also be creating an email for [solidcore] newsletter subscribers. We know it's not a standard ask from us, but we know you'll create some really cool, visually striking emails. And who knows, if you really deliver, we may ask again. While you will be tasked with writing the email, more importantly you'll be tasked with making it visually engaging. It should capture reader's attention with a dynamic image header, and while we imagine this to be a still image, we are open to a gif here. You'll also want to create splashes of movement with images interspersed throughout the text. You can use this [solidcore] stock photography or generate your own graphics for this. The content itself should consist of a gratitude message thanking the community for 10 years of sweats & shakes, announce the tattoo activation, and invite everyone to 'join us in studio' to celebrate 10 years of [solidcore]. Check out some examples of past top-performing [solidcore] emails HERE. The copy should be minimal and concise with punctuated with dynamic imagery. Along the same lines, you'll also be tasked with writing short, hyper-engaging copy for them to use to notify members with a push notification to their phone from the [solidcore] app. This will consist of a title (the bold text of the notification) and notification details (the description underneath). You're encouraged to find creative ways to use emojis here to capture user attention.

One element that will be used throughout all of the above materials is a special edition logo redesign. The [solidcore] team wants to see creative takes on these logos that celebrate the 10th Anniversary. These shouldn't overly change the base design though, moreover they should be subtle touches that are noticeable enough to elicit a double take. Think a subdued Google Doodle. You could try out new birthday color designs (like silver) or accessorize it with birthday accessories. Get creative, but not too creative. It's important to note that these birthday logos will be delivered ahead of the remaining elements, and do need to be incorporated throughout, so it'd be useful to pitch some ideas of how you'd create this in your treatment to serve as a starting point should you be greenlit.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a submission. Though most projects on our platform do move forward, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any submissions via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

INTRODUCING BACKLOT: Tongal's rolling out a big, brand new feature called Backlot, which will enable you to post crew and production staffing opportunities connected to Tongal projects. Backlot will include search tools that can help you find collaborators and crew by role, skill set, location, and more. To help get things rolling, we're offering $100 to each of the first five creators who post an opportunity on Backlot related to this project, even if you post while the pitch phase is open, and even if you don't find someone to fill the role. Need a storyboard artist? Editor? Colorist? Start the search on Backlot - and if you have any questions, ask away in the #Forum and we'll tell you more.

FULL DELIVERABLE BREAKDOWN LINKED HERE.

TENTH ANNIVERSARY PLANS: This is what [solidcore] is planning to do to celebrate the 10th anniversary. The content that you create will build awareness and excitement around this.

  • A themed class at each studio nationwide: There will be a 10th anniversary themed class with featured playlists from music over the past decade. To add a fun thematic element, clients will be encouraged to wear silver-colored clothes. Anyone who attends class on November 2nd will also receive an anniversary badge in their [solidcore] app. Every studio will be decorated in silver, and there will be themed giveaways.
  • [solidcore] tattoos: At one tattoo shop in each city with a [solidcore], the first 10 people who want to get a [solidcore] tattoo will get theirs covered by [solidcore]. See the old bay activation that inspired the idea here.
  • Employee Appreciation: Special gifts for coaches, exclusive dinner with founding members and the [solidcore] CEO in Washington, D.C., and a full company meeting celebration. As these are mostly internal events you won't be

SOCIAL DELIVERABLES

  • IG Reel Tattoo Activation Announcement (IG Reel Video): Sample copy: "this is no trick//consider this our treat//this thursday, [solidcore] turns 10 years old//thank you for a decade years of shakes, sweat, and good times//to celebrate our birthday, we're giving away free tattoos across the country at participating tattoo shops//here's to the next 10 years!"
  • IG Story Tattoo Last Chance (IG Story Video): Sample Copy: "time is ticking//there's only 24 hours left to get a free tattoo on us//to celebrate our 10th birthday//1 decade of shakes. a forever memory of your favorite workout//don't miss out."
  • Four 9x16 Static Images (IG Story Tiles): These should announce the Tattoo activation, while giving basic details of the activations.
  • Ten Textless Static Images (IG Story Tiles): An IG Story Sticker will be placed on top of these images to ask the [solidcore] community questions about their experience. As the sticker must be added in Instagram, you'll just be creating the still image that surrounds the sticker. These should have the tenth anniversary logo at the bottom, be visually unique, and be engaging while leaving space in the center for where the sticker will eventually be located. It may sound easy, but there is a high skill involved in making something simple yet highly engaging, without taking away form the main content — the sticker.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed out in the Deliverables.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A more detailed and specific description of how you propose to execute all of the content listed out in the Deliverables, both in terms of what we can expect to see, and how you’ll make it. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal.

For your convenience, we’ve provided some helpful templates to use at your discretion. They include templates for creating a treatment, production budget, storyboards, shot list, call sheet, and a music cue sheet. Additionally, there are templates that will help you clearly present cast, location, and wardrobe options to the Sponsor. They can all be accessed here.
