Interview [solidcore]'s CEO at their headquarters in Washington D.C. and then produce a suite of social videos to celebrate the company's 10th Anniversary, and also showcase the CEO's unique path to his current position.

***Due to the nature of the project, you must be located in, or willing to travel to, Washington D.C. for footage capture.

The CEO will be available for a flexible window of time between 9am-5pm ET on 10/11 or 10/12 for the interview. Exact time to be discussed on greenlight.***

Community anchors the [solidcore] experience beyond the studio, and Bryan Myers, their CEO, represents this through his own journey from one-time client to current CEO. As [solidcore] approaches its 10th Anniversary, the brand wants to celebrate this momentous milestone by showcasing Bryan talking about both his own experience with [solidcore], and the evolution of company itself, with an interview at their headquarters in Washington D.C. The goal of this project then is to create an engaging interview video that can be used not only for their upcoming 10th Anniversary celebration, but can also live on as a core video in the story of [solidcore].

[solidcore] was born in Washington, D.C. where they opened their first studio. As such, the interview will  take place at their headquarters in Washington D.C. If it makes sense, you'll also have the opportunity to capture generic studio b-roll at their first ever location, though this is not a requirement. For a variety of reasons, we're expecting a small and nimble crew. We anticipate you'll only have about 2 hours with the CEO, and from there, you could expect a half day shoot if you were to include b-roll at the original location. With location and talent already provided, successful execution will rest solely on your ability to employ effective and efficient interview techniques, and to condense this interview into engaging social content.

Leading up to the interview itself, you will work with the [solidcore] marketing team to align on interview questions and style. Expect them to be present for the shoot with Bryan. You'll be creating one long-form video specifically for the 10th Anniversary, and another that can be used year round. Cutdowns will be used on social as short, engaging pieces - one or two key lines from the interview - so think about how you can make those social specific.

As you will be interviewing the CEO of the company, it's important that you plan to take full advantage of the time you have with him as well as conduct the interview itself in a professional way. Please speak to how you plan to do so, including how you plan to appropriately crew up so that you're able to be efficient with your time with Bryan. As part of this, we are requesting that you include a dedicated hair/makeup artist and encourage you to think about how you can ensure that you're fully focused on him during the interview, not adjusting lights or sound. We do expect this to be shot with a professional camera and dedicated sound, but it doesn't need to be anything fancy; totally cool with mirrorless or DSLR here. If you have a great phone video set-up too, we're not against it, just make sure to detail how you'll still be able to capture premium sound and video with it.

In your pitch treatment, speak to how you would make these videos unique while retaining [solidcore]'s premium look and feel. For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a submission. Though most projects on our platform do move forward, we will notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any submissions via the project forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and the project team.

INTRODUCING BACKLOT: Tongal's rolling out a big, brand new feature called Backlot, which will enable you to post crew and production staffing opportunities connected to Tongal projects. Backlot will include search tools that can help you find collaborators and crew by role, skill set, location, and more. To help get things rolling, we're offering $100 to each of the first five creators who post an opportunity on Backlot related to this project, even if you post while the pitch phase is open, and even if you don't find someone to fill the role. Need a storyboard artist? Editor? Colorist? Start the search on Backlot - and if you have any questions, ask away in the #Forum and we'll tell you more.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed out in the Deliverables.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A more detailed and specific description of how you propose to execute all of the content listed out in the Deliverables, both in terms of what we can expect to see, and how you’ll make it. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal.

PRE-PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS: Prior to shooting, filmmakers must receive the below approvals from the Sponsor.

  • TREATMENT: Describe in detail how you plan to execute the content, and how you plan to bring it to life visually. Feel free to use concept art, references, style frames, or mock-ups. If relevant, share additional information about your team, and your process.
  • STYLIST: Present at least two options for the Hair/Makeup Stylist you intend to collaborate with, and ensure the past work that you share is relevant to this project.

For your convenience, we’ve provided some helpful templates to use at your discretion. They include templates for creating a treatment, production budget, storyboards, shot list, call sheet, and a music cue sheet. Additionally, there are templates that will help you clearly present cast, location, and wardrobe options to the Sponsor. They can all be accessed here.

BUILDING YOUR TEAM: Looking for help? Post crew and production opportunities connected to Tongal projects on Backlot. Backlot includes search tools to help you find collaborators and crew by role, skill set, location, and more, for productions of any size and type. Tongal also supports inclusivity in all productions, and strongly encourages you to hire diverse talent for your team. To find additional options for staff & crew in your area, check out these resources and partners.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS & RESOURCES: Once the Video Phase has closed, the greenlit submitters will enter the Revisions Phase. Filmmakers will perform reasonable edits on their videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback. Check out our Filmmaker Resource Portal to access helpful post-production resources like Text-Safe Guides for different platforms, Project File Organization Tutorial, Export Presets, and Captioning services.

MUSIC: If you use any music from a library for your content, you MUST use one of Tongal's three music providers - Jingle Punks, Universal Production Music and Epidemic Sound. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into submissions to this project, and will not require a Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the providers’ names above.

If you choose to use custom or original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. Please ensure your composer reviews and signs this form BEFORE beginning their work.
