In our ongoing efforts to make Tongal as awesome and user-friendly as possible, we’ve made a slight change to the way that Tongal Points are calculated. Don’t worry, Tongal friends, it’s not as scary as it sounds.
As a refresher:
There are two kinds of Points awarded here at Tongal -- General Points and Season Points. General Points are awarded on every single Tongal Project. These Points are how your rank on the Overall Leaderboard is determined. Season Points are awarded to the top 5 winners in Projects that are categorized within a specific Season. Season Points determine your rank on the Seasons Leaderboard.
Here’s the good news:
These two Points systems used to be calculated two different ways (we know, it’s wacky). But now, they’re both going to be calculated in the same way that Season Points always have been. Additionally, you’ll get one General Point for each Idea, Story, Pitch and Video that you submit. This only applies to General Points -- meaning, it will not affect your Season standing.
This change will take place September 1, 2013 and will be applied to all Projects moving forward. All Points (both Season Points and General Points) that you have previously accumulated will not be affected.
