2025 once again showcased the talent and impact of Tongal’s global creator community. We received award recognition for our work with Pharrell Williams, helped St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to develop adventures for their very own superhero, collaborated with Nike, LEGO, and WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson on the animated series Clicked-In, and much, much more.
Here’s our month-by-month rundown of some of our favorite projects this year. We couldn’t do any of this without our amazing creator community. We continue to redefine what is possible when talent meets opportunity, and look forward to breaking new ground for the creator economy in 2026.
In January, the Hollywood Reporter highlighted how a global network of young Tongal creators helped bring Pharrell’s Piece by Piece biopic to life. Tongal artists and animators from Indonesia, Paris, and Warsaw were interviewed for the article, describing how they recreated Pharrell’s world on screen for the life-changing project.
H&R Block continued to innovate by partnering with Tongal to find fresh content creators, ideas, and perspectives to power their 2025 tax season content. Tongal director Bobby Webster oversaw six national broadcast ads while 15 other Tongal content creators around the country also contributed to the campaign with localized social activations.
Cinema-loving Tongal community members celebrated 20 legacy Sony titles with authentic TikTok creative. The 14 creators chose their favorite films and TV classics from their catalog, and produced shortform videos in a variety of formats, ranging from listicles, to production breakdowns, and series recaps. The full suite of 65 videos ran across a variety of Sony partner channels in the Fandom network.
Pharrell Williams x LEGO: Build the Change
Our collaboration with Pharrell Williams’ nonprofit Yellow and the LEGO Group’s Build the Change initiative won two Webby Awards. The video, by Tongal creators Mega Spacefighter Productions, supported Pharrell and LEGO's work to celebrate and encourage the unique ways that different kids learn. It won the People’s Voice Award in the Short Form and Corporate Social Responsibility categories at the prestigious event celebrating the best of the internet.
In June, Tongal celebrated the power of purpose-driven storytelling through the Hero’s Journey Story Challenge, a short-film initiative produced in collaboration with Boulder Crest Foundation and Atlantic Pictures. The challenge spotlighted stories of Posttraumatic Growth and culminated in the selection of Second Chance Rescue as the Grand Prize winner from more than 80 submissions.
We teamed up with T-Mobile to bring a pool party DJ experience to YouTube audiences. Showcasing DJ Steingold, these hour-long music sessions were a perfect way to relax and engage with the summer at home.
When we were tasked by Navy Federal Credit Union to develop a new YouTube series offering financial advice to past, present, and future members of the military, we saw a great opportunity to tap into the vast wisdom of our country's veterans. Tongal creator Jordan Hall, a Navy Fed member whose parents were in the military, and grew up moving around different bases, masterfully helmed the Vetted Advice series featuring real-life Navy vet Storm Summers and Marine Corps vet Celeste Escoto.
In September, Tongal expanded its mission of creator-powered storytelling by showcasing our first Fever Fighter project at LA Comic Con. The Fever Fighter origin story we shared at the event was the first step in transforming a St. Jude patient's superhero drawing, originally conceived during cancer treatment, into a fully-realized animated universe developed with Tongal’s global creator community.
Tongal partnered with video game giants 2K to assemble and coordinate a collective of some of the world's most talented and high-profile creators to build hype around the latest Borderlands release. Our bench of 22 creators based across five continents created original shorts, maker content, AR filters, official animated ads, and even the official music video for the game’s title song, This Land by Des Rocs, directed by Tongal creator Fesq.
Sometimes, the best partnerships are so perfect you can't believe they didn't happen sooner. Hasbro and Mattel united the limitless creativity of Play-Doh with the endless popularity of Barbie in a fashion collab which allowed young fans to create clothes for the iconic doll. Tongal created a series of broadcast and digital commercials to bring this first-of-its-kind playset to life, including a festive special showing off Barbie's sleigh style.
Tongal partnered with Nike and the LEGO Group to create Clicked In, a weekly YouTube Shorts series hosted by four-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson. The animated series reimagined Wilson as a LEGO Minifigure alongside a cast of characters — blending sport, style, creativity, and personal storytelling into bite-sized episodes.
