As a former After Effects-er, I recognize how precious each and every click is. You know the old adage, “a click saved is a penny earned” … or something like that.
Key-framing is the thankless, mind-numbingly necessary task that get your animations popping. “Frustration” is one PC word that comes to mind when describing the act of slightly adjusting each and every frame to get the desired effect you or your client are looking for.
That’s why I nearly fell out of my editing booth when I stumbled upon an After Effects plugin built by an animator for animators, that can potentially save you hundreds of clicks and improve your animations ten-fold.
It’s called Motion2, built by the 26-year-old-putting-us-all-to-shame, Matt Jylkka.
Skip about three minutes in to start the tutorial and play the “how long does it take to whip out your debit card for a mere $35” game. Took me about a minute. If you’re not immediately convinced, skip ahead to 9:25 for the “Excite” feature overview – that should do the trick.
To put it simply, with his sleek UI, wasted clicks decrease, productivity & accuracy increase.
Not only does Matt provide you with incredible software plugins at a low price, he has a TON of free tutorials that will surely beef-up your animation/design game.
It should be noted that, that Tongal has no affiliation with Matt or his software, we’re just big fans of innovators and self-starters. Kudos Matt; keep on keepin’ on!
