2018 will be remembered for many things: Wakanda Forever. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The slow-motion horror of the daily news cycle. A Star is Born memes.
But, in our own little Tongal-y corner of the world, 2018 will primarily be remembered for the new creators we met and the projects we launched. And, of course, the videos we created together.
As we put a bow on 2018, we thought it’d be fun to take a look back at the most-viewed* #MadeOnTongal videos that delighted, moved, and informed audiences across the globe.
OK, let’s get down to business:
5. Haircuts from SmartStyle Hair Salon by Paxeros Creative
Currently clocking in at a very respectable 4.5 million views since its August release, this short and sweet spot by Paxeros Creative reminds you to freshen up your look.
4. Scrubbersizing with Comet by Brendan Beachman
What’s better than 4 million views? How about 5.1...million? Brendan has long been known on Tongal for his comedic work, and this video definitely fits the bill while gently scrubbing its way into our hearts.
3. Pro-Advance & Pro-Sensitive - A Breakthrough in Infant Formula by Confetti Lab
True, with a January 3 publish date, this video had the advantage of nearly an entire year to gather views. On the other hand, 6.5 million is an amazing feat any which way you cut it. Think we can chalk it up to that adorable baby?
(the original 2018 video was taken down and reuploaded by Similac US, but you can still watch it here)
2. What is League of Legends? Told by Nevercake by Daniel Burger
If you don’t know what League of Legends is, view the below video to join the 23.7 million others who came before you and all will be revealed. Spoiler: it’s a VERY popular online multiplayer video game. This video was so popular, it even made YouTube’s Ad of the Year list in the “Frees Your Inner Gamer” category.
1. Pip | A Short Animated Film by Studio Kimchi (written by David Kilgo)
Pip is the lil service pup that could! In addition to enjoying a massive 33.5 million views (and counting!) on Southeastern Guide Dogs’ official YouTube channel, this heartwarming animated story has also enjoyed viral success on Facebook, pick up on blogs and in industry mags, and even made Charlie Sheen cry. We estimate that across all channels, the video has been viewed more than a whopping 100 million times!!! We call that #Winning.

* This Top 5 list is based on available data and the numbers reflect views at the time of this blog’s publish date. However, we think that the videos made in the Imagine the Dessertabilities campaign deserve an honorable mention because, in addition to a digital run, they also had the honor of a multi-screen, multi-day showcase in freakin’ Times Square!
