A quick montage of tons of people getting on an elevator before it breaks down, leaving everyone crammed together. Close ups and sound design (coughing, filing nails, etc) emphasize the uncomfortableness. When our hero says a joke, everyone laughs. Faster edits, wider shots, as the pace picks up, people talk, pass food around. Close ups and slow motion as everyone gets along. A DING of the doors opening takes us back to regular speed. But they close the door, stay together.
