Eczema is often caused by having decreased lipids on the outside of the skin, resulting in an inefficient membrane, letting water out. Most products focus on adding more moisture in, but with an inefficient membrane, no matter what you put on, it will escape. A product needs to be developed that treats the problem--an inefficient barrier. We need something that focuses less on putting moisture in, and more on retaining the moisture that our skin has.
