My name is Jack M. Shimko. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2009. While undergoing treatment, I chose to fight cancer in the ocean by surfing, swimming and paddling. Paddle2Live was founded when I paddled 150 miles through the Channel Islands to raise money for cancer awareness & research. Since, I've paddled 300 miles for cancer in 2011 & lead 2012's junior waterman expedition. Now in remission, I've raised tens of thousands of $ via P2L & earned SURFER Magazine’s 2012 “Agent of Change" Award.
