After Christmas, Tannen Baum (the family Christmas tree) overhears that he will soon be thrown out. With the help of a battery-operated snowman, a three-legged plastic reindeer, and an inflatable nutcracker -- Tannen makes a daring escape! They flee through several adventures, including group of fund-raising boy scout pursuers, a hobo looking for firewood, and a renegade woodchopper. In the end, Tannen realizes he can contribute to Christmas permanently as a part of the city's manger display.
