Tongal is looking for 3 Instagram-savvy creators to join the @TongalTeam Social Crew to help brainstorm and produce engaging content for Tongal’s Instagram channel on an ongoing basis.

Update April 3rd: The pitch submission window has been extended to give everyone more time to pitch and create their Sample Social Asset. We're excited to see more out-of-the-box ideas and creative executions for what you can uniquely bring to the channel. If you've already submitted to the project, rest assured your pitch is still in consideration, but we welcome you to rework your pitch before the new deadline if you'd like to try something new.

---

The goal of this project is to identify up to 3 Tongal community members to join our elite @TongalTeam Social Crew and create engaging, fun, and original social posts for Tongal’s Instagram channel. Ideal Crew members should be Instagram-fluent and possess video, animation, photo, and/or design skills, while also bringing their unique talents and personality to the channel. Jump down to Background/Additional Details for even more creative direction.

Your focus will be on creating great content, but Tongal is also committed to promoting the creator behind each post. For this reason, every post you make will be credited back to you, making this a great opportunity to grow your own Instagram following while building out a social marketing portfolio.

HOW IT WILL WORK:

By joining Tongal’s Social Crew, you’re signing up to create content for Tongal’s Instagram channel on an ongoing basis over the next 3 months (May, June, July 2020). Selected creators will have direct access to bounce new ideas off our internal team, from stand-alone posts or series to Instagram Stories. Additionally, Tongal may have an idea for a post or series which we put out to the Crew to see who is willing and able to execute on the idea.

DELIVERABLES:

  • 24 Social Assets, delivered across 12 weeks
  • Suggested copy to include with the description of each asset (if applicable)

TIMELINE: For the full project timeline please see the Assets section.

EXPOSURE:

TARGET AUDIENCE:  Entertainment-lovers, Tongalers, and filmmakers, editors, writers, and animators in general

TONE: Fun, relatable, inspiring, supportive, inclusive

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Selected @TongalTeam Social Crew members MUST create a minimum of eight original Instagram Social Assets per calendar month (images, videos, boomerangs, etc.)

  • Submissions MUST adhere to Tongal Brand Guidelines, which will be supplied to crew members

  • Selected creators MUST share a minimum of two of their original Social Assets per month with followers on their own Instagram channel(s), while tagging @TongalTeam (posted natively or pushed to their Instagram Stories from the @TongalTeam channel)

  • All Social Asset submissions must adhere to one of the following specs:

    • Instagram In-Feed posts - 1080x1080 or 1080×1350 (Videos up to :60)

    • Instagram Stories - 1080x1920 (Up to :15 per video. Upload multiple videos as a single file.)

The @TongalTeam Social Crew is a 3-month pilot initiative designed to build Tongal’s Instagram presence by featuring the work of our global creative community. The goal here is to establish a “by creators, for creators” environment, so potential Crew members should consider the kind of content they’d most like to see on the channel - and how their skillset can contribute to the conversation - when pitching.

In addition to stand-alone content, you are also encouraged to consider serialized or recurring content frameworks when pitching. We are completely open to seeing what you can uniquely bring to the table, but here are some references to get your wheels turning:

TONGAL’S INSTAGRAM CONTENT BUCKETS and INSPIRATION:

To be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • PITCH SYNOPSIS (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less explaining why you’re a good fit for joining the @TongalTeam Social Crew, outlining the qualifications or skills you bring to the table, and the types of posts you’re most interested in creating.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): Links to your personal or professional Instagram account. Additionally, you may link to individual posts that you especially think we ought to check out.

  • SAMPLE INSTAGRAM ASSET (REQUIRED): Submit one sample image or video you think would be a good fit for the @Tongalteam channel and that aligns with your creative interests and strengths.

  • NOTES (Optional): If you'd like to add further context to your Sample Instagram Asset, you have the option to include a note about your submission in 1500 characters or less - also a great place for adding suggested copy to accompany your asset!

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with Tongal and show us what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell Tongal why you should be selected to join the @Tongalteam Social Crew and share any ideas you have for posts you’d like to contribute. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

Three greenlit creators will be selected to join the @TongalTeam Social Crew and each earn $250 to be part of the program for 3 months. Additionally, each creator in the Social Crew will earn $200 per month to create 8 pieces of Instagram content. Should your pitch be selected, you must complete the Winner’s Affidavit and IP Assignment forms in order to receive payment. Please note: the payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets section.

PRE-PRODUCTION: Prior to creating ANY official Social Assets, Social Crew members must connect with their Tongal Producer to receive brand guidance.

If you obtain music from third-party catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with your license purchase receipt when you turn in your video paperwork.
