Tongal is looking to add a few Instagram-savvy creators to the @Tongalteam Social Crew to ideate and create engaging content for Tongal’s Instagram channel on an ongoing basis through Winter and Spring of 2022.

The goal of this project is to identify at least 2, and up to 3, Tongal community members to join our elite @Tongalteam Social Crew, each of whom will be asked to create engaging, fun, and original social content for Tongal’s Instagram channel and expand upon a few continuing content series. We're looking for content that other creators will LOVE, and then share on their own channels.

If you've noticed the #TongalSocialCrew hashtag on our posts (and hopefully you have), you've already enjoyed some of the thoughtful, hilarious, referential and informative content that our Social Crew members have been creating. Now it’s time for another class to rise up and take over the world (or, at least, our Instagram channel).

Ideal Social Crew members will be Instagram-fluent and possess video, animation, photo, and/or design skills, while also bringing their unique talents and personality to the channel. A variety of media interests is also helpful. Jump down to Background for more creative direction. If you've been a member before of the social crew previously, you can still submit!

Your focus will be on creating great content, but Tongal is also committed to promoting the creator behind each post. For this reason, every post you create will be credited back to you, making this a great opportunity to grow your own Instagram following, while still building out a social marketing portfolio.

While Social Crew members will be able to let their imaginations soar, there are three on-going content series that need new torchbearers, listed below. We'll need someone to take these on, so in your pitch, we're asking you to select which series is your favorite. You'll be asked to take one of these as part of the content that you create.

HOW WILL IT WORK? By joining Tongal’s Social Crew, you’re signing up to create content for Tongal’s Instagram channel on an ongoing basis over the next 6 months (Jan through early June 2022). Selected creators will have direct access to bounce new ideas off our internal team, whether they be for stand-alone posts, series, or Instagram Stories, and we're excited to see where you want to take things. Additionally, Tongal may have an idea for a post or series which we put out to the Crew to see who is willing and able to execute on the idea.

DELIVERABLES: There will be 30 total stand-alone Instagram posts, adhering to the following formats:

  • Instagram In-Feed posts - Image, or video up to :60 (1x1 or 4x5)

TIMELINE: For the full project timeline please see the Assets section.

EXPOSURE:

TARGET AUDIENCE: Entertainment-lovers, Tongal clients, Tongalers, and filmmakers, editors, writers, and animators in general

TONE: Fun, relatable, inspiring, supportive, inclusive

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Selected @Tongalteam Social Crew members MUST create a minimum of five original Instagram Social Assets per calendar month (images, videos, boomerangs, etc.)
  • Submissions MUST adhere to Instagram specs as outlined in Background/Additional Details.
  • Submissions MUST adhere to Tongal Brand Guidelines, which will be supplied to crew members.
  • Selected creators MUST share a minimum of four of their original Social Assets per month with followers on their own Instagram channel(s), while tagging @TongalTeam (posted natively or pushed to their Instagram Stories from the @TongalTeam channel).

The @TongalTeam Social Crew is an initiative designed to showcase the work of our global creative community, while making cool sh*t for the Tongal Instagram channel. The goal here is to feature content “by creators, for creators,”, so potential Crew members should consider the kind of posts they’d most like to see on the channel - and how their skillset can contribute to the conversation - when pitching.

We are looking for both stand-alone content and recurring content frameworks when pitching. We are completely open to seeing what you can uniquely bring to the table, but here are some references and content formats to get your wheels turning:

CONTENT BUCKETS WE PLAY IN:

#TONGALSOCIALCREW REFERENCES:

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters explaining why you’re a good fit for joining the @Tongalteam Social Crew, outlining the qualifications or skills you bring to the table, and the types of posts you’re most interested in creating.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): Links to your personal or professional Instagram account that demonstrate your capabilities or approach. Additionally, you may link to individual posts that you especially think we ought to check out.

  • SAMPLE INSTAGRAM ASSET (REQUIRED): Submit one sample image or video you think would be a good fit for the @Tongalteam channel and that aligns with your creative interests and strengths.

  • NOTES (Optional): If you'd like to add further context to your Sample Instagram Asset, you have the option to include a note about your submission in 1500 characters or less - also a great place for adding suggested copy to accompany your asset!

  • PITCH VIDEO (Optional): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with Tongal and show us what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell Tongal why you should be selected to join the @Tongalteam Social Crew and share any ideas you have for posts you’d like to contribute. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

Three greenlit creators will be selected to join the @TongalTeam Social Crew and each earn $900 to be part of the program for 6 months; each creator in the Social Crew will earn $150 per month to create 8 pieces of Instagram content. Please note: the payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets section.
