truTV challenges you to recreate posters and show art (as timelapse videos and stills) from three fan-favorite shows using whatever (and whomever) you have around your home.

Break out your costumes, your craft supplies, and your hot sauce: truTV is challenging the Tongal community to recreate these posters from Tacoma FD, Impractical Jokers, and Hot Ones: The Game Show. We want to see you bring these posters to life using whatever you have available while sheltering-in-place. So dig out that scratchy tan throw blanket your grandma knitted you (makes a great firefighter jacket), your toy cars and chalk, and your grill lighter and get creative.

Much like the Getty Museum Challenge on Twitter, we want to see the photo of your recreation...but we also want to see how you brought it all together. So set your camera or phone to timelapse mode and show us the effort behind the masterpiece. Dogs losing focus, babies getting bored, props falling over – that's all part of the process, and we want to see it.

truTV is looking to greenlight at least two timelapse videos/poster from each show, for 6 total. Your submissions should be based on the posters linked in the THIS FOLDER. We encourage you to submit multiple videos.

You can also check out this blog post for some tips and tricks on how to best film yourself at home. You can also find a PDF version of this document in the Assets tab.

NOTE: Our priority is to make sure everyone is safe, and along with that, we’re working really hard to keep people working during this strange time. Our advice would be to submit only if you feel you can do something within the anticipated timeline that ensures everyone's safety given today's reality.

DELIVERABLES:

  • One video up to :30 (1x1)
  • One high-quality still of your final poster/show art recreation.

TIMELINE: For the full project timeline please see the Assets section.

EXPOSURE: Videos will be posted on WarnerMedia-owned social media channels.

TONE: Funny, clever, ironic, nostalgic, goofy - really anything can work as long as it's entertaining!

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Your video CANNOT show any visible third-party logos, or merchandise from other IP or franchises, including trademarked or copyrighted materials like toys, books, posters, games, clothing, and shoes. That makes it a little tough, but that's why we're going DIY and lo-fi.
  • You video CANNOT use any dialogue, music, or sound effects from other IP or franchises. You may use scores from the shows (ie theme music; NOT needle-drop music or soundtrack songs). You can also check out the three approved music providers in the Project Requirements section.
  • Your submissions must be recreations of the posters ONLY from the three shows listed (Tacoma FD, Impractical Jokers, and Hot Ones: The Game Show). Those posters are linked in this folder.
  • AVOID graphically violent or sexual  images, or overtly political subject matter.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your submission.

  • VIDEO (REQUIRED): Submit a short video up to :30 in length. Your video should be 1x1 (square).

  • STILL (REQUIRED): Submit a high-quality still of your final poster/show art.

The 6 most compelling videos/stills will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive a $500 payment for their video. There's a strong chance WarnerMedia may pick more than 6 videos, so we encourage you to submit multiple recreations!

REVISION REQUIREMENTS: Once individual Videos are submitted, filmmakers will enter Revisions. During this phase, filmmakers may be asked to perform reasonable edits on their Videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback.

MUSIC: Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Jingle Punks, Universal Production Music and Epidemic Sound, any of which can be used to source music for your video submission to this project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into submissions to this project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the providers’ names above.

If you choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from third-party catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with your license purchase receipt when you turn in your video paperwork.

ASSET DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS: You must also provide all project files, editing sequences and a 1080p .mov master file, using a ProRes, Animation, or Uncompressed Codec in order to submit final payment.

  13. The Sponsor will be entitled to reasonable revisions on the finished Videos without providing additional compensation. Remember it's easier to re-edit than re-shoot so try to get as much coverage as possible.

  14. In addition to the standard Tongal W-9, Winner Affidavit, and IP Assignment, greenlit Video creators MUST also provide Talent, Location, Music (or other) Releases for all assets appearing in their Videos, as well as a photograph/headshot OR copy of a photo ID for all On-camera Talent releases. You must also provide all project files, editing sequences and a 1080p .mov master file, using a ProRes, Animation, or Uncompressed Codec to claim your earnings.

  15. See OFFICIAL RULES for additional contest information, terms and conditions. If there is any conflict or inconsistency between these requirements and the Official Rules, the terms and conditions of these requirements shall prevail.
