Showcase your fanart for BritBox's newest show, The Other Bennett Sister, in a fun, dynamic social video.

*This is a very quick turn project with production on your artwork and rough cut of video needing to be done by 5/14 and a final delivery by 5/18*

Fans of romantic, Regency-inspired storytelling already know and love BritBox's The Other Bennet Sister for its soft, character-driven charm and immersive world. Now, we’re inviting that same devoted audience to take their love a step further. Based on a spin-off novel that follows Mary Bennet, the overlooked middle sister, The Other Bennet Sister takes a modern emotional take on Austen's Pride and Prejudice. We are looking for those Jane Austen fans—makers, artists, and storytellers alike—to transform their favorite moments, characters, and moods from The Other Bennet Sister into tangible, personal works of art.

We are looking for two creators to showcase their unique fan art for The Other Bennet Sister in a :15 art time-lapse process video. This is a fun opportunity to reimagine the romance and wit of this new BritBox original series through your own lens, celebrating the elegance and emotion that define the Regency period and Mary Bennet in particular. Your artwork and video should feel warm, intimate, and slightly whimsical; this is your chance to explore cottagecore aesthetics and rich detail. Imagine your art process video as a love letter to the world of the show. If greenlit, your video will be posted on BritBox's social media as well as your own social channels, tagging @BritBoxTV. BritBox may also post to their channels and tag you so make sure to include your social media handles in your pitch.

Your fan art can be done by hand or digitally; our goal is to spotlight different mediums such as paint, papercraft, clay, sand, digital motion graphics, or whatever materials you may have at your disposal. However you decide to craft the final piece of art, we do want this to be an engaging video fit for social, so think about creative ways to highlight your finished piece in a time-lapse process video.  The reference videos in the Background highlight the kind of creativity and craftsmanship we’re excited to see, with work that feels both personal and transportive.

For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

EXPECTED TIMELINE: HERE

*This is a very quick turn project with production on your artwork and rough cut of video needing to be done by 5/14 and a final delivery by 5/18*

EXPOSURE: We expect content will be used on the platforms below, but if casting talent, be sure they review our required Talent Release before they're cast, as we CANNOT guarantee that usage is limited to these platforms. You should also review our Music providers in the Project Requirements, as well as the platform best practices.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Jane Austen, The Other Bennett Sister, and Regency Fans

TONE/FEEL:

  • Creative, artistic, imaginative
  • Cozy, delicate, cottagecore
  • Warm, inviting, slightly whimsical
  • Intimate and detail-oriented

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • The Other Bennett Sister Logo and the BritBox Logo must appear in the first 5 seconds of your video
  • Greenlit creators must post the finished content to their personal social media channels and tag @BritBoxTV in the captions
    • BritBox may also post the final videos to their channel and tag your social media handles so you must include those in final delivery

AI USAGE: You may not use AI generated visual or audio assets in your final content. However, for the purposes of your pitch and pre-production materials, you are welcome to use generative AI to create visuals, storyboards, animatics, proofs-of-concept, etc. that might help the Sponsor understand your vision for creating the final content. Additionally, assistive AI tools (e.g. object removal, compositing, color grading, sound mixing, subtitling, etc.) may be used in post-production to supplement your workflow. Please keep record of any AI usage deployed in your submissions in the event that the Sponsor requests AI disclosures. If you have questions about any specific usage or tool, please ask your Tongal producer.

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a submission. Though most projects do move forward, we'll notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any submissions via the Project Forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and project team.

HELPFUL REFERENCE VIDEOS FOR INSPIRATION/TONE:

In order to be considered, include the below materials in your submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery. All Pitches remain private, even after a Pitch is selected, and Tongal strives to have Pitch selections made by the end of the Evaluation period, but additional time may be required by the Sponsor, depending on any number of factors. Unless specifically requested, there's no need to include a budget with your submission.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): Up to 500 characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and produce the content listed in the Deliverables.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A more detailed and specific description of how you propose to execute all of the content listed out in the Deliverables. Explain what we can expect to see, and how you'll make it. If it's helpful, we've provided a treatment template HERE.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work and/or artwork and your social channels. Please specify your role (producer, director, editor, artist, etc.) but do not include links to your showreel. Please link to individual videos.

The most compelling pitch will be greenlit by the Sponsor, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal, typically included with the project timeline.

If you use original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. Please ensure your composer reviews and signs this form BEFORE beginning their work.

STOCK FOOTAGE: Tongal has partnered with the stock footage library Storyblocks, which can be used to source video clips, photography, and After Effects templates for your video submission to this project.
