T-Mobile is looking for a creator to produce a suite of videos and stills that play off generational humor and showcase the benefits of working at T-Mobile.
It's time to call up all the Gen X, Millennial, and Gen Z friends you know to talk workplace humor. T-Mobile will be opening a new call center in 2024, they are looking to attract talented potential employees from all generations, to make sure they've got people who understand all the generational humor and cultural nuances that their customers are familiar with. With that in mind, the T-Mobile Careers Team wants to spread the word about the company's fantastic perks and incredible workplace culture, and talk how much fun it is to work there while advancing your career - no matter your generation. To help them do just that, we're looking to produce some funny, clever, and original content for Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z alike.
The goal of this project is to create three different short social videos ,and three static images, with one video and one image for each of the three generations they're trying to speak to. The videos themselves can be anywhere from :07 to :60 in length (although shorter is better), and the image can pulled directly from the video, but should be able to stand on it's own with adding graphics or text to provide a clear message or make it meme-worthy! For a good example of a supporting image, take a look the recent T-Mobile Bobby Hayes video, which was accompanied by this Bobby Hayes meme to drive home messaging while still having a little fun. Keep in mind these are intended for social media, so we're not looking for high production value or polish.
These videos should ultimately drive viewers to check out the T-Mobile Careers site, and then apply for open call center positions. While these videos can highlight any of the vast benefits T-Mobile offers - company culture, retail discounts, on-going educational, and so on - we are also looking for videos that call attention to the personality types that would be a good fit for call centers. We want videos to relate and attract people who excel in interpersonal communication, customer service, patience, and problem solving. A breakdown of what the themes and styles we are looking to see with each generation is in the Background section. While these videos will be speaking to different generations, you do not need to specifically point out what generation the video is for. These videos should also still feel evergreen and convey the general benefits of working at T-Mobile, while be entertaining and comedic.
You have A LOT of space for creativity here; simply have a look at this T-Mobile Careers Bob Ross parody if you want an example of what we're looking for in terms of ingenuity, humor, self-awareness, and good messaging. Think of a variety of memes, parodies, clichés, sketches, and jokes that are popular on social sites. Although we are primarily looking for live-action executions, you can propose anything from cinemagraphs to stop motion, or if you have a unique idea for how to amplify your assets with limited 2D animation or motion graphics, we are eager to see what you can come up with.
You can find information on their employee perks, benefits, culture, community, diversity, and other company initiatives, as well as additional past employee videos in the Background. For any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

GENERATIONAL VIDEO BREAKDOWNS:
Gen X - This set can have a more traditional style. We are looking for something professional and straightforward that still feels exciting and tech forward. There is even potential to include employee pictures and videos, which would be provided by T-Mobile, to showcase the working environments. HERE is an example of a simple, straightforward video that discusses Military Benefits. HERE is another example of a very straightforward video talking benefits as a parent. While we are looking for something more enticing than those examples, this will give you a general sense of tone for Gen X content.
Millennials - This set can have a similar approach to Gen X, but we are looking to lean more into general office humor. Think about the videos that poke fun or try to find the entertainment in the nuances of office life. For some examples of tone, check out these videos: Business Account Executive DITL, Debra with the tea, Dog emails, and Outlook Web.
Gen Z - This set has the opportunity to be the most FUN out of the three! Ideally, take a look at trending memes, TikTok sounds and trends, or really anything social trend worthy that would pair well with hiring in mind. For some examples of tone, check out these videos: Jennifer Lawrence meme, Las Vegas Dome meme, PTO drop, Pass or Smash.
